well, I got out of work 5 mins early (yeah I know, Im such a badass!!!!) and made it home with 6 laps to spare, and f**k me what a top 6 laps to watch!!!!!!

felt sorry for rick kelly, he held them off as long as he could, but i think the car just wouldnt go hard any more :(

but im happy, holden 1 2 & 3!

was anyone else contemplating suicide from the telecast....

god the team they have drives me insane i want to watch motorsport not larko, crompton, skaife have personal jokes. That idiot from sunrise talking about god knows what about the taxis, even throughout the support races..

Go race and strategy by brighty to make up the lap and get close to the top 10

Murph's argy-bargy passing move was more than a bit, er, marginal. V8 stockcars must be employing F1 race stewards...

Thought there were a few marginal passes.. Tander on Kelly was a bit rough

I reckon the category is the problem not the telecast. the racing is just rubbish and spreading it over 8 hours makes it worse.

But hey, its the biggest race of the year in aus....and I don't mind spending all day in front of the tv drinking beer :D all and the rookies each year guarantee some crashes.

You mean the shit that Clowndes has been getting away with for years. Good to see the shoe on the other foot for a change. :D

the advertising to content ratio was woeful as usual- "here's 90 seconds of pacecar, now for 5 minutes of the same fkn ads you're already sick of seeing"...

i thought the shot of the back of the front brake rotor was a pretty interesting camera angle though. nice to watch the sparks fly at the end of conrod

didn't watch enough of the broadcast to catch all of the no doubt numerous dodgy moments, but Murph def should have got a drive through for that effort, really

Days Of Thunder spec- "racin' is rubbin', son..." lol

it's one thing to have an advantage into the braking zone, it's another to come steaming in too shallow and too hot and just jam your nose into the other dudes rear quarter

not that i really care for the team affected (or any of 'em really), but it's the principle of the matter, y'see...

lol good race at the start and end, coverage was shithouse due to not being in high def here and the unending effing ads!!! Pace car came out too often as well, talk about making it BORING when its restart after restart! Felt bad for tricky ricky Kelly, was hoping the boys were gonna hold off til the end, apart from that bloody pace car making em all bunch up again!

Clowndes deserved a punch in the face from the other driver for that pit lane thing, couldn't believe he didnt get penalised for some of his other shenanigans either.

True, the officials wrecked the start of the race when they put the safety car out for the first corner incident. FFS, they had two minutes to get the spun car out of the way! Totally took away from the usual first few laps of argie bargie.

and yes, the damned ads, bloody repetative and way too long! Ridiculous.

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
