2:07.9 is the fastest from a v8 supercar.... nice effort as the v8 super car runs slicks and there budget is higher!

you mean 2:06.8 by Murph 5 years ago or whenever it was?

a 7.9 might just get you into the top 10 these days...

as they should be. massive budget, many years of ongoing development, best drivers in the country...

not taking anything away from these times. that's crazy fast! as it the top speed! how good would it be to see the 34 wooshing past the V8s down Conrod?

Incredible effort. Well done to the giant boys.

Doesnt it make you wonder Just how far above the rest of the pack the gtr would be if it had the unbroken years of development thats been poured into the family cars. :P

Since the ATTESSA is all a about hissy fits rip that diff and guff out and go RWD! Actually with the power of that thing i think its best you suss out the AWD! Didnt the R33 have a similar problem last year? Is it that the transfer case just cant play ball at those powers, needs coolers ???

haha good work guys....shame mark is such a pussy behind the wheel otherwise you might have got a good result.

don't worry about the super taxis with an extra 20 years of development...what was the group A GTR's best time around there? that car had the best of everything - preparation, development, and the 2 best drivers going around back then.

awesome! simply awesome.

I have a present for you mark too. :(

and russ nothing for you cause you didn't come first. hehe. ok, I'll find a consolation prize for you.

think of a car that started out as a used, 10 year old, stock 34 GTR road car. was then lovingly built mostly by mark and russ and their friends and family with specialist help and bits where needed and it's now pulling 320km/h down conrod (and holding together mind you, no 1 lap grenade engine with 5 spares in the pantec.....) and running such great times at tracks all round the country. and it was built with their own money, hardwork, and sweat. As I told mark the first time I saw it all together it's pretty much the coolest GTR I have EVER seen and I've seen all the fancy ass ones in japan etc too from saurus, to mines, to m-speed and none of them put mark and russ's car in the shade. that's for damn sure.

well done again. I only wish I was there!

Berry's time was despite some issues with fuel and various. I saw all his runs - just f'kn awsome.

Makes my own effort (R32 GTR 2:41.4734 - only 0:27.7654 off the pace) seem a bit average. However I went in wanting to better 2:50 so I was happy. The car ran well with the only dramas being heat today (oil temp, and air temps) and a failing power steering pump. I had to do qualifying yesterday WITHOUT power steering - I did 5 laps and managed a 2:47. I was pretty rooted afterwards - could not imagine lasting much longer.

I went to the 2 day Drive Bathurst event last year (familiarisation; unlimited speed runs, NO timing) and did the Sprint this year.

All in all a top event and I reckon I'll be back next year (with better oil cooling, 4WD controller, lose some weight {me and the car}, ........). I've got 2:30 something firmly in the sights!

good to see you getting out there in my old humble 32. hope she's still treating you well mate. it was such a neat car when I owned it so hopefully it will keep on trucking. pretty good pace you are cracking too and mighty close to a 30 which is very respectable pace in anyones book. oil cooling is always a big one for GTRs. what are you running now?

was it not somewhere around the 2m 15sec reigon. Skaife set a lap record at 2m 15.46 not sure if it ever went quicker than that though.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
