Spotted: Black Thunder trying to race me while i was driving my other car today, i chopped him

Ha!ROFLMAO! Black Thunder, you say?Classic!I wonder if the horrible media types at Black Thunder Central(104.7)have more respect for the fabled stove taillights...Or maybe they'll jump on the rising wave of stereotyping and label your car,and all of ours,"killer Skylines"?

Hey everyone, about the cruise the other day, sorry i didn't see you all at the Cotter. What time did you leave there at? I headed out at about 3pm after work and i couldn't see any of you? I was probably in the wrong place as i was taking directions from my dad and he has just a bit of trouble with maps

However i did stumble upon a Ford Mustang gathering, and i don't think too many of them were happy to see my Japanese turbo six amongst their American 8's... got a few dirty looks so i got out of there quick smart ;):P:p

But anyways, i heard about the crash. What model was it? The rims in the pic i saw were 32's, so i assume it was an R32? Ah well, great news for my insurance premuim and road reputation.

In no way do I endorse road rage. However, stay out of my !@#$% way - OK!...it's been a bad day...(jokes)

I just hope like hell that this doesn't happen again soon. Insurance companies are so risk averse it's not funny (that's why they are so rich) and they never forget. The last thing we need is for Skylines to get the same rep the WRX got when it first appeared. Chick at NRMA told me the first 10 they insured in '95 got stolen and the whole industry still isn't over it. Premiums go up, they don't go down.

Thing is there's always going to be more people killed in hot rod Commodores etc but the media has this new 'playterm' called Skyline. If someone is to blame for an increase or restriction it'll be the media sensationlising it to the point that the pollies think they have to do something and the insurance dudes never letting go of the belief Skyline = bad. Get ready for another 70 or so people to get taken out over the Xmas / New Year period but don't expect our buds in the media to put pressure on the govt to use more taxes to improve roads which are ridiculously unsafe.

Sorry for the rant people just hate getting squeezed by the fun police / nanny society gestapo for no reason when nothing usually changes anyway...viva the revolution! (steps off soap box)

Totally disagree with you leech.

so as soon as someone has finished their p's they are automatically good enough to handle a limitlessly-high powered car? it's the driver and i did just as much (if not more) stupid sh*t in my slow lancer as i've done in my line. fact is young people are going to do stupid stuff in cars and kill themselves no matter what, its about time people just accepted it and got over it, i'll say it again, regardless of the car young people are going to kill themselves, so stop with the stupid restrictions, im not giving up my skyline for anyone, and if i still own it when the restrictions come in, in a few months i'll still drive it.

im really fired up over this whole bullshit debate, a young guy crashes his import and all of a sudden left wing pinkos come out with these ideas, the restrictions hav'nt work in neoo zee-lund and they wont work here.

wanna make the roads safer? ban the over 65's

oh and by the way, if P-platers get banned then get used to about 4 people coming on cruises, if all of us "deadly p-platers" were already banned there would have been about a quarter of the turnout on sunday too.

True, but an idiot driver is an idiot driver regardless of whether they're on their P's or not and regardless of what car they're in.

To true but at least it will give most of these people an extra 2 - 3 years to learn to drive properly. granted again that for some people it doesnt matter how much time you give them they will still drive like tools but when you hear 17 and 18 year olds in rex's and lines who have crashed generally due to inexperiance its a sad to hear and frustrating. Main downside is all young drivers are getting crucified by the press at the moment and the fact that you and others drive performance cars means you will be signaled out even more which is dodgy...

i know what you mean andrew and hey each to their own i know i am still young and have a shit load to learn about driving and i never said it will make them automatically good enough to drive high performance cars but it will at least provide a little more experiance to hopefully be able to react a little smarter if something does go wrong. i know myself i have learnt the hard way in my previous cars but am glad in a way that i didnt have my line back then hey maybe you guys are alot better drivers than me but yea anyways i know everyone has their own opinion on this so yea i will be quiet now :)

also maybe my first post was a little blunt so sorry didnt get my point across properly i think. someone :kick: next time they see me :headspin:

I don't necessarily agree with either of your idiotic opinions but pleased you both expressed one. Ahhh Democracy.....

But when Stalin and I get back into power you will think what we tell you to think or you will be:headshot:

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day
    • While I was waiting for the new parts to come in for the charge pipe and radiator I decided to do some turbo modification. The drive pressure (exhaust backpressure) was a lot higher that I thought it should be. For 32lbs of boost drive was 55lbs. The turbine housing is a 1.10AR and my turbo builder has suggested to go to a 1.25AR. To test if a larger AR would do anything to reduce drive pressure AND not spend any money I decided to hog out the divider in my current housing. I removed it from the inlet and the whole way through the housing.  After reassembly and testing it doesn't look like this modification did anything for reducing drive pressure or requiring more fuel (making more power). Oh well, it was worth a shot. We'll get some data at the track if it makes it past the 60ft. I also machined a $7 shift knob off Amazon to fit my Stillway shifter since I didn't like the Stillway shift knob. Next on the list was the radiator replacement and fabrication of a new intercooler tube that had no silicon coupler. No pictures of this - I was short on time each night after work to get this done and didn't stop to take pictures.  Next was to get the clutch disks out and replaced. Previously when installing the dogbox I had ordered a set of the same sintered iron disks I had been running because I switched to the 26-spline input shaft. I thought it was odd that they didn't have any markings or brand name on them like all my old disks had but installed them anyway. At the track I could not get the clutch to lock up using my normal strategies. After two track nights I reached out to the clutch manufacturer and ask their thoughts. They said they had to switch the material out because they were having trouble getting the original material and that this new material would not take to being slipped very well.  So out with the first set of 26-spline disks and in with the correct material 26-spline disks. While I had the trans out I added an inspection/service hole. I've wanted one of these for a while. Now I can have a look at things and change the front cover shimming when needed (clutch wear). I hustled and got the clutch change done in a few hours on a Saturday. Hopped in the car and drove home. On the way home I did a 1-3 pull. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd the core plug in the back of the cylinder head popped out and dumped all the coolant. Thankfully I was only 30 seconds from home and coasted it there. Datalog showed nothing unusual and 2.5psi of coolant pressure. That plug has been in there since 1992 but I guess it worked its way out. Pulled the trans AGAIN and replaced the plug, JB welded it in, and made a brace. Also deleted the head drain I had added in during the bearing issue fiasco.  I am currently changing my boost control plumbing to make it cleaner. After that is done I'll make another attempt at getting past the 60.
    • Are you 100% sure this isn't tune related?
    • 140-150 across the board. At this point hoping the grounding harness fixes it. My grounds are all tied to the chassis and none to the battery. For SR and KA that’s never been a problem for me but had a few other guys here and Reddit who told me RB really like a very solid ground setup tied to the battery so going to try that next, I’m stumped if that doesn’t do it. Never had a car have spark and fuel and not fire off before. Only thing I can think is the spark is intermittent/weak because of grounds nothing else really makes sense at this point
    • I am having close to the same issue. Can you help me with what wire you grounded to get your pump to trigger?
