manni - thanks alot mate

dave - it doesnt sound too bad in person as it isnt as high pitch, BUT having said that, i will be getting a bov soon enough before it goes in for the next tune, im only an apprentice, short on cash lol.

another thing i wanted to add as well is that this is a all bolted onto the standard manifold, standard intake, shit cooler. when u pop the bonnet you can hardly tell anything is there a part from the big ass pro gate.

will take a pik soon and post it up.

Don't think the manifolds are holding you back.... I'm still running the standard ones at 350 odd rwkw and as before mentioned (5 or so posts back)smaller turbo

lol, not saying its holding me back, just stating what the car has.

i think alot of people are forgetting the fact that the car IS NOT FINISHED yet, its only on a safe tune for now until i go back there in February.

the only reason why i actually picked it up was because i was really keen to go for a drive in the thing, take care of other things with the car for the time being

then take it back when they open up.

its fine.... but you have to make sure that the blend is correct.... some people blend with 98ron, some with 91

as long as you tune the car on the 91 ron stuff then you will always be safe

hence i tune on united's blend which is 91

the total octane comes out at an estimated 107ron

Man, whatever happened to the times where someone got a result after having work done, they were happy with it, and wanted to share it with others who might be interested and give positive comments?

Where are the 'nice one man, nice power im happy for you' comments?

It seems its now a comparison of who thinks they have the biggest penis extension here...

Who cares if you have a smaller turbo and it makes more power...nobody gives a f**k.

And if Bas wants to have 'dose' then who are you to tell him to get rid of it?

You know-it-alls should step back and take a hard look...first try comparing apples with apples; why would you try and put someone down after posting up here, clearly very happy about their result?

Congratulations Bas, its a good figure and cant wait to see what the final result is once you take it back to get it finished off.

Deans punched out 330 today so well have to line you guys up and see how you go!

Who cares if you have a smaller turbo and it makes more power...nobody gives a f**k.

actually matt i am quite happy for any sau'er to have a good result,

all i was saying was that i have a much smaller turbo and fuel system, and a simlar result, hence wanting to make sure that he get the rwkw he deserves.

when the tune is done, his car will ave more power than mine, and i am happy for him :D

None of my comments were putting the guy down.

And regards to the dose, it is a well known fact that having no BOV and "doesing" kills turbos, not to mention sounding dumb.

And whomever raises their hand to say otherwise needs to drop the "fully sick bro" attitude.

Who cares if you have a smaller turbo and it makes more power...nobody gives a f**k.

If i had a 700hp turbo and made as much power as a 500hp one, giving away all that response, id give a f*%k.

But back on topic, 330 is nothing to sneeze at, as BAS says the tune is still not finished. Enjoy the drive and im sure you will be back on the rollers in Feb to reach your setups potential.

Did you read? There were no injector issues at all. 85% duty is not a worry... read on and you shall see why...

Now further detail is provided... a GT35 in .63 is pretty much at the limit @ 330rwkw miss firing aside. You'll also probably find the miss firing could also be induced by .63 rear.

It is horribly restrictive for that compressor.

There should not be issues with fuel because of the following...

1. 800cc/E85 is more than enough for 370rwkw+

2. Two Bosch 044's with E85 will support 400rwkw+

Given the above... You'll never reach those limits with a GT35/.63, so all is well and good. Leaves one issue. Miss firing.

Would likely be coil packs and/or plug choice, but i wouldn't be surprised as i said above, if it was indeed the rear housing choice playing a factor.

I was just going by what Gtech told Bas, after all they are the professionals

fueltown, you mean the big yellow place on the corner? how long have they had 85?

might have to make a call and see where they get it from :D:);)

dont think they have had it for long. but yeah the yellow joint on the corner. good to see more people using this.

Congrats D34DLY on the build. :D

matt - thanks alot for that post mate, really appreciate it.

ultimategtr - thanks alot bud :D

hamish - thanks for the comment mate, gotta see you car in the flesh and maybe go for a cruise soon :D

nytsky - i dont want you taking offence to this mate, but in regards to the 'dose' how you say they need to drop the fully sick attitude is totally wrong, just because a car sounds like that does not mean in anyway that you are some form of a hero or a 'fully sik bro' type person.. having said that, i dont think rajab racing, gtech performance, jpc, and a number of other workshops which have plenty of 9second drag cars that run no bov have a fully sik bro attitude.

i know you dont like the noise, i know u are just voiceing your opinion, but im not fully sik bro, and i like that sound, so u stick with whatever setup you want, and ill stick with mine.

but thanks for your input anyway mate :)

russell - just for you i have made another video, first attempt at a 3rd gear powerslide lol.

halle - thanks alot mate.

Hey Baset, Congrats on the results!!! lou lou showed me your vidz on youtube and it sounds soooo beasty, we watched them quite a few times lolz.

hope to see u on the road sometime, drive safe ey

-Johnny

still worth tuning for it dude...

have you read my thread? i get 280 pulp and 320 e85... that's a fair bit down the 1/4

Just did then, thats it im buying it in 205ltr drums! im going the same setup us SS8 Gohan's 34, bring on 280rwkw with a completely stock looking engine bay.

    • Well it wasn't as easy as I thought.... and it also wasn't in my original manual which I did end up finding. They discuss the process in the Nismo catalogue though and it requires slight machining. Page 145.  NISMO PARTS CATALOGUE 2020
    • I'm an idiot, my intercooler is rated for 1000hp. I had clicked on the wrong product. Knowing the delta P would be nice, but I'm doubtful I'll do it. Now as for an EMAP, that would be great and I'll get around to it eventually but from my findings in my last post, I'm considering a turbo swap now.
    • You sir, big win tonight. Precision never supplied compressor maps in the past and Idk when they started, but it seems they only offer for a few of the older gen2's which is exactly what I have. I punched in some numbers and seem to have gone with the wrong turbo. 600-700whp isn't in the most efficient area and is close to the choke line. 800whp is well off the map. Punching the numbers into a 68mm gen2 turbo map is bang on in the center. Here I was thinking going smaller would shift the power band down, but in reality it would just make it so much worst due to my rev limit. I would have never thought.
    • Increasing overlap will bring the torque down earlier (and make your idle sound sick lol). Worth a shot (if you dyno time) to experience a bit (providing you are confident your valves won't kiss your pistons). Is to just take off 5 degrees across the boosted area of the map, and then retard the exhaust cam let's say, 3 degrees at a time and then overlay all the runs with VCT on all the way and VCT off as soon as you make positive pressure. Ideally you would have a total of 6x overlays to looks at 0 exhaust & VCT off once manifold pressure is +ve 0 exhaust & VCT on all the way -5 exhaust & VCT off once manifold pressure is +ve -5 exhaust & VCT on all the way -10 exhaust & VCT off once manifold pressure is +ve -10 exhaust & VCT on all the way Just leave your O2 wideband closed loop on for all of the boost area & RPM, and hopefully there isn't too much fuel correction needed and the Haltech is fast enough to compensate (I do this, then apply the correction to the main table). Getting that overlay data should give you a good indication of what to aim for.
    • So, my main limitation here is that the car does not have an oil pressure sensor by default, just a switch. As part of my tune I bought an oil pressure sensor upgrade so I now have access to oil pressure levels and logging rather than just the boolean behaviour of the switch but this means I need to use the tuning app to display this value. So, this rules out using any other app on the iPad. The app will also flash when pressure drops which is a nice feature. I have replaced the centre screen with an Android one, which is awesome for Android Auto, but I think it might be too far away and out of my line of sight. I might add some gauges to it this weekend and just see. I guess if its just temp and oil pressure I can make them massive! 🤣
