I try and stay away from all this shit which I guess mostly happens after the sun sets, by which time I'm in LaLa land.

But, now and again you get in that lane that cuts off about 100 meters down the road. So its a bit of squirtsville.

One time I did this to a, fark , Rodeo turbo diesel. He was so annoyed at the first op he screamed past me.

Silly bugger, as all hoons are.

Not their upbringing, their appendage. :D

haha, nice one hugh.wish more people could just do what i do

just accept the fact that their penis is rather average in size, and if your compesating with a car your just lying to yourself

ive been awake awhile,sweetdreams lads

last night some guys in a silver skyline tried to get me to race, pull up right next to me whilst cruising at 80 on nepean then rev the engine. hahahaha i looked at them like... "u are a douche" and they took off at 100+.. ppl like that give the "real" skyline owners a bad name

i know why holden drivers drive fast cos occasionsally i have to drive my stepdad's vs wagon

its such a bland and boring car to drive and the way the whole car feels makes me angry, so angry that i take off quickly from lights, weave through traffic and generally display bad driving so i can get home quicker and get out of it!

in other news, i love the effect it has on other drivers when they try and overtake you etc.......

and i love the wet, angry s13 pulled up next to me when it was raining the other day, he was still struggling to get a grip in 3rd lol and he had fat tyres too

yup, i remember back when i had a s13 silvia turbo. that thing was dangerous in the wet - as soon as boost kicked in, the back would sometimes step out a bit and you had to do a little dance on and off the throttle to regain control. All in all it was a fun car and quite fast in the dry, but these days I wouldn't give up AWD for anything. That and the stagea is just such a better car to drive, despite being heavier and slower.

Yep, wide tyres can actually be a detriment in the wet - because there's so much more contact surface, there's also more water to get rid of between the tyre and the road so it can make proper contact...

its quite good on the way down south in nz there is big long passing lanes that are quite steep straigh up hills and like 5 k long . and the honda boys thinks theyre fast till the stag blows past them 5 up .

Had some cock yesterday actually wanting to drag me off. I'm LH lane and he's RH lane at a set of lights going into an 80kph zone. All the occupants in the car (teenagers) are both fascinated with the Stagea and also giving the 'challenging' look. Lights haven't even changed green and their creeping their shitbox Commonwhore more and more over the white line. Lights go green and they driver nails the throttle and the car takes off, whilst I cruise to the speed limit. I'm aware the road is heavily policed, and sure enough a hidden motorcycle cop pulls out and gives chase to the Commonwhore and pulls them over.

I love that feeling when you make the decision. No. I will not stoop to that level and immediately they get busted. Just makes you think that decision just saved SOOOO much headache, my license and possibly a lot of work getting the car roadworthy, and in several peoples cases a license is also a job. So potential house repayments as well.

ok so mine is not a stag - but had a couple of guys in an xr8 ute ask for a drag down here in vic (near narre warren) - i told them "nah man...its cool" - funny enough they were polite and said "thats cool bro"

but yeah....usually if people want to drag me, i just let them go. Not going to risk 1) my life 2) other peoples lives (in my car or around my car) 3) my car 4) my licence - just not worth it

I mostly get wagon-envy, and mostly from mums. Although lowered with rims, exhaust, fmic, every piece of rice wants to race me.

Also seem to get a lot of "do a burnout!".. maybe it's the beard

Edited by bubba

yeah i got that do a burn out by a bunch of dickheads hanging around a couple of rear dumps holdens with stockies...

leaving the pool hall they all want me to do it, pull up next to them put the window down, 'dude its AWD' there face's looked like i just told them there adopted. really upsetting i could tell LOL

I only ever run Legnums (there's a couple of smug bastards around in leggys)

And this one time I felt the need to punish this bogan a CA powered pulsar o.O

It is fun to get in the faces of the holden and ford tossers but not worth the time

I've had a few like that - they even comment when it's plainly obvious I have my 18-month old daughter in the back!

Go figure...

Try driving a bright-red DR30 with 16" Wats and a single-muffler (but legal) exhaust. You can't not draw attention to yourself.

If it's not the FJ turbo whistle, it's the BOV!

Funny thing is that I've never been pulled over in it, nor been given any grief while at an RBT or the like.

  • 3 weeks later...

I guess im kinda a hoon then, i mean i know my stag isnt the be all and end all. But i like to make people go WTH was that.

The other month some noob P plater in his bombodore was lurching and goading me at the typical 40-60kmh in light urban area near redbank plains. I slyly tipped it into tiptronic and dropped a gear into 2nd. Next roundabout I trumped it down at the apex to give myself a grin. Unbeknown to me was that my car would spin on all fours then grip like a a deamon leaving four black marks in a signature of where i had been. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the Tein Supersports make all the difference in cornering.

So far i have found my turbo lag lets me down in getting off the line, but hey i couldnt find a manual at the time!

On the broad scheme of things i dont race the Stag, its not what i got it for. Besides when you have done 300KMh already on a bike, speeding in a car is kinda slow.

<3 the Stag

I've often thought the same thing, the slowest sportsbike I've owned, will spank the arse of virtually any car I've seen. Once you've ridden a seriously quick bike, spending money making cars quick seems fairly pointless; mind you, I'm still spending...

Another thing, once I'd spent a bit of time doing track days, I had no desire to speed or drag on the street. Which flies in the face of everything our governments try to tell people.

    • Given you're running a 2.8 and my 2.5 is not really like for like, I suspect there could be a bit more timing you could give it. What is the kW yield per degree you're putting through it? Here's my E85 map to give you an idea, where it was I could still get another 3~4kW per degree thrown at it.
    • It turns out that Setrab make a fan specifically for the oil cooler which is great and I've installed it with minimal swearing. I removed my 2x 12in push fans from the front of my aircon condenser and wired them into this. My main thermo fans kick on when I use the aircon anyway and would effectively already be working as puller fans through the condensor which is infront of the rad. The push fans (understandably) didn't really do much in the config they were previously in so now they're out. Now we're on to the "Oil fan doesn't really do much either!". Yes I'll duct it next if it does nothing in heavy use which it shouldn't. But hey, the object exists and fits great and is cool. Let me have this. The car is still in the "do my fittings leak oil now? do my wheels actually rub?" phase. I did a spirited drive on them and didn't hear or feel anything. Then I got back home and noticed there were grind marks on the inside of the rims, though I couldn't see where they were touching I got out the grinder and attacked the suspects. Note: I do not know how to use a grinder. Then I realised I had dragged my new rims across my concrete driveway before I did this drive. I didn't think I had damage at that time when I briefly looked...... but remembered this occurred after I did all the angle grinding. The grinding on the wheels in some very specific spots. It's not around the whole rim for example, which lines up with dragging it across concrete more than hitting a suspension component for even 1 full rotation. So everything is currently painted and taped up and I need to test it some more to see if it really IS rubbing, but from inside the car it doesn't feel like it is. In other news I attempted to do a before and after comparison of the heads/cam upgrade thing. Dynos lie, everything is in different measurements. Here is the data from the sandown back straight. Car go faster than before. Vroom vroom.
    • Here's my base ignition. +3 correction to redline when shooting water/meth which is always on. Looking at my old ignition table, I should be able to add 1-2 degree's next time I'm on the dyno.  Let me know your thoughts.
    • Given what I know now - same haha, but this was 12 years ago with second hand 740cc Nismo injectors in my S15 daily, I was too busy hunting elsewhere for the issue to even look at the injectors, running through some cleaner was a happy coincidence haha
    • Not a terrible idea. But if I ever had concerns that my injectors were sufficiently dirty to be causing me a problem, they would be out of the engine and onto the actual injector cleaner/testing bench.
