I love the look of the LED tailights just makes the car look so much more modern! Only problem is they dont fit like a perfect fit you cant tell by the eye But if i walk up close to it and feel the gaps etc. They not as perfect as teh original. Is there anyway i can use orginal housing and put the leds in them? Anyone know of any places they will do this or be willing to try and do this?

post pictures of back and front of the stock ones and back and front of the aftermarket ones.

maybe some one can help.

Im around liverpool too ummm budd the problem is the aftermarket ones are in the car and i dont want to take them out cause i put this windscreen glue on them because i dont trust them incase they leak through thats why the sstock ones fit like a glove i dnt have to worry about leakiing issue, o other hand i will take them out if someone is willing to do them. Ill try find some pictures on the web . I can show you the stock ones easy enough?

Hmm they look allright in that pic you just posted. The thing i hate about them is what they look like during the day when turned off. Not a fan really.

Cant stand em meself look horrible an cheap I reckon

Have never found any aftermarket lights even D-Speed clear indicators

that fit as good as stock

sure you could just change the lamps in stockers to led would be brighter etc.

They look better then the stock ones!!! the stock ones make the car look much older. LED lights modernise the car more. On my silver GTR they look nicer then black gtr but thats my opinion. i cant find a close up picture of the LED tail light but i can get one of the stock??

They might look more modern, but in my opinion most modern things these days look cheap.

I think the original lights preserve the older looks about them and that's why in my opinion, they shouldn't be changed.

yeah I also wanted to get some for the 34 but just can't bring myself to do it, I like the old lights :D

also I would only get the nismo items as the copies look cheap and not good in daytime, whereas the nismo items looks stock during the day.

Like all mods, it comes down to whether you buy a good quality product.

I have to admit that I'm a fan of LED lights - that are done well.

I have a set on my R32GTR.

When taillights aren't on, they look stock.

When taillights light up, they modernise the look of the car. Sorry, it's a really bad pic, but should give you an idea of how they look during the day.

they are much better than your average china ones... what brand and where from?

the cheap chinese ones look shithouse, and are cheap quality, we've had a couple of guys come into the shop wondering why they're leaking water etc.

the homemade LED ones that JImports seems to have a re better.

I reckon if someone was to make them using the Hella reflective tubes for LED they'd look awesome.

i have seen a few skylines with LED tail lights and so far none of them have looked any good. sure on the 32 they may look modern, but they are something modern on an older car. it just stands out and looks out of place. it's like seeing a 60 year old woman with fake boobs. just doesn't look right.

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
