seraphyn_r33
Buy yourself something N/A and lightweight, go to the track and have some fun, do some driver training, then when your off your P's not only will you have the ABILITY to drive a turbo car to its full extent, but the thrill you will get of going from a lowish powered N/A car to a high powered turbo car will DEFINITELY be worth the wait. Just the feeling of getting your license and being independent is good enough, i wouldnt jeopardise that IMO. Think of it this way, if you get caught, you wont be able to go round to that girls house in the middle of the night with no license and car Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/306242-turbo-and-p-plates/page/2/#findComment-5070611 Share on other sites

Yeedogga
I reckon you would have to be mad to risk it- I have had my unrestricted licence for years, but every time I get signalled into a roadside RBT station, (at least 4 times in the last 6 months!) the first question they ask is "are you a P-plater?"... Must be the childs face I have on.. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/306242-turbo-and-p-plates/page/2/#findComment-5070713 Share on other sites
Chibs
drove my car on my p's for about 4 months everyday... just dont display your p-plates and avoid late night driving.. I dont recommend you do this but if you have no choice thats the best thing to do... Highway patrol's can quite easily catch you... but if its a normal patrol car on the street just hope he doesnt take a second look at you... GL ! Kintake
its absurd how many P platers run turbo cars and just happen to have gotten there licence before the restrictions came in. The restriction came out in July 2005, so to have gotten your red p before it came in would mean being on your P plates without being disqualified for 5 years. I got my Red p in 2003 and have been on p plates ever since due to one disqualification that came from driving while suspended for fine default. Personally I drive a turbo car everyday, even though the restriction was added for me in 2007. I've had v8's and turbos before that, so It's basically a punishment, not a safety concern. I haven't put a p plate on any of my cars for about 1 year now, but I don't look like a p driver and my licence doesn't say Provisional across the top because its a heavy vehicle driver licence, that probably helps. The Bogan
Car licences should be like the 250 rule for bikes, limited to 2 ltr na or under till they get of their P plates. The Bogan
A old mate of mine had his licence suspended for 10 yrs because he kept driving whilst disqualified, He initially lost it for being booked a few times and lost his 12 points, if you dont need a licence and have lots of money to pay fines go for it but think of the long term consequences Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/306242-turbo-and-p-plates/page/2/#findComment-5075451 Share on other sites
RB25PWR
id risk it, you only live once, right? Terrible advice. Yeah you only live once, so why make it miserable with no license and losing money from fines? And like the dude above me said, when it's midnight and you wanna drive to your missus' house... GL.
