Choice, been watching out for an update on this.

The manifold is looking nice all ceramic coated. Looks really tidy from what I can see.

Very clean job on the wastegate inlet off the turbine housing too. Have seen some butcherous jobs on those before.

Haha, that side of the engine bay is going to be packed as when it's all assembled.

Glad you are still working on this. It's been a while in the making but I'm sure it'll be worth it as soon as you can give it that first squirt eh. Bring on the chubby ass power curve.

Yeh the manifold is not too shabby. If I had spent more time planning it out It could have been done a little better, but its going to have to do. If i was doing it again I would change the merge angle of the collector so its closer to ideal around the 10-15 degree marge rather then the 25-30 degree its at now. I was worried about it being too close to the bonnet, but it appears to be further away then expected. Live and learn.

I can say when its all in and going there literally wont be room for anything, at all.

Certainly has been a long time. But its getting there. Im hoping for the same thing!

Lol there should be enough room for everything I need, I think. It is going to be a little tight where the outlet of the turbo goes into the charger inlet though. I will cross that bridge when I get to it :) But its very safe to assume the engine bay will look full!

Lobster backs ftw Mike!

Chris, I was given that one, however im told you can get them from a company called Midway Metals. MIght be a good place to check if you are in need.

Thanks mate. Hopefully Ill have it finished and fully welded tomorrow, ready to bolt up!

Lol yeh I should have purged it, but I was too lazy to machine up some bungs. I seem to like doing things the hard way lol. If I was doing this all at work then I would have as material and machines would be there. But its done now.

Took forever to weld it.....stupid lobster backs.

Hopefully have wastegate outlet finished tomorrow night.

Its steps back down to 3" to match up with the existing system I made when it was just supercharged. I didnt really wanna fork out for more mufflers and redo the whole system in 4". This will have to do!

Its not an ideal step down either, its a 60 degree step rather then the proper 15 degrees or whatever its supposed to be. The first expander is more like what it should be.

Looking sweet!

was that cone hard to source?

It's a tube reducer. You can get them concentric and eccentric. Available in 304 or 316L

I used to order mine through M&S Stainless in Prospect; http://msstainless.com.au/

Been following your thread for a while now; fantastic work, amazing! :worship:

Excuse my intrusion; back to the show!

Cheers mate.

Well wastegate outlet is all tacked up, ran out of time to weld it. Lol no pictures sorry. However I have spent the last 3 hrs at work this morning working on the charger intake flange to accept a 3" tube to hook up the turbo outlet. Starting to take shape, Its going to be tight getting the turbo outlet plumbed into the charger intake though  .

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
