All turbo's are made by Garrett  companies just put their name on it

Kinda. HKS 2530's have a different spec bearing and actuator bodies etc. Same with the GT RS, you can get an equivalent Garrett model, but you'd be slumming it.

ceeebz waiting aroudn

if you ever post the word ceebz or any variant of it, I'll personally ban you.

when you spend close to 180K on your cars your gonna need loans or alot of drugs bro

pretty sure i saw you out front of maccas not last friday but the friday before on princess hwy around midnight...

Hehe!

So in that case did HKS actually make their own turbo or did they just get a Garrett turbo and install their own bearing and actuator bodies?

Fairly sure Garrett make them to HKS's specs and then brand and package it all up for them.

kinda like paying for a Cartier watch direct from the US instead of rolling into an Aus store?

(i bought a Garrett instead of HKS.. can you tell?)

no cos it's still the same Cartier watch. If you bought a Cartier Rotonde Skeleton with a flying tourbillon for $130,000 (HKS 2530) instead of a regular Cartier Rotonde $40,000 (Garrett 2530) that would be a fair comparison.

How does one make enough to spend close to 180K on cars at aged 22 working at AAMI?

Genuine question..Not trying to starting anything or accuse you of anything..

garrett make turbochargers for HKS and HKS have a special exclusive offer contract from garrett

this means HKS can make up a spec with whatever they like and get garrett to build and garrett are not allowed to sell it

so you can't buy a GT-RS exactly the same from garrett, as HKS have exclusive rights on the wheels, trims, specs, etc

you can get very close, but not the exact same turbocharger from garrett or a garrett reseller

so you cant buy a garrett GT-RS or 2530 or 2540 or 3037s

tourbillons are still included in some expensive modern watches as a novelty and demonstration of watchmaking virtuosity

i think i'll stick to my pov-spec garrett brah

    • I used to have Walbro 255's when they were a pretty common update. (or were they 044? 040?) In any case I had a dirty tank. I thought the tank was good, but I would find the filter would clog in maybe ~50km of driving. If the issue persists, well, your fuel system or tank has crap in it that the pump is sucking up.
    • Hi. Ok thanks for the info. I/we do not know what tune is on that Nistune ECU so it is why there is stock ECU and that Nistune is for later when the car is done. I have guy who tunes Nistune and other ECU so i will then take it to him to see and properly tune for the car   And for the update. On 99,9% it is bad fuel pump. Which is wierd cuz it is like 2 years old(brand new walbro 255) and that filter (also brand new) was dirty.  I was alwaya pumped premium(100) on very good petrol station so i dont know how is that possible...
    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
