Too true...add to that shuddering/surging on throttle lift offs...will give him a week before he has the factory BOV reconnected....

Hecctik...

Awesome pic, though strangely only appears when I went to reply, not normal.. Weird :S

Anyway, my prelude has a great dose, not a crappy VL type one, but a grunty manly one <_> No problem with shuddering or surging, and its got a brass button clutch too, and its fwd, and tyres bald, and its 220KW :)

hey guys.. have just notised two lines im not sure about... 1 is coming from the p/s compressor- which go to the intake pipe... what to do..????

2.. there is also another line coming from the wastegate... what to do..... any help would be appreciated...

Why dont you just drive around with "Im a Knob" sticker on your window.

Dose pipe and sticker have the same affect.

There is a small difference between the two Dave.

the sticker actually has people questioning whether its a piss take or not.

dose pipe confirms it without a shadow of doubt.

that one going to the throttle is your bov recirc which you dont need to worry about block it off, the one going to the rocker cover is the oil breather you must have that so make a nipple on your new intake pipe and the vaccum one goes into the t peice of the stock boost controoler you can block it off

Hope you enjoy stalling and backfires....Sorry ash

if u do it correctly this will not happen, i had a metal "dose" pipe made for my 34, i removed all the piping for it from above the turbo (sorry i dont know the mechanical name but it was 1 black pipe and 1 steel/alloy pipe" and also blocked out the bov and i never stalled. as for backfiring after i installed my cooler i got backfire a lil bit and i didnt realise an increase

i run a hks ssqv now though so no more dose as i got a bit over it

So what part of your install was done "correctly" over the 100's of others that have issues.

You only have issues when you do it without having the car tuned my car was stalling before I had it tuned then when its tuned for no bov it doenst stall and runs well

I dont know where all these stalling theories are coming from... I blocked off my BOV on my Stagea, no stalling. Had it blocked off on my 33 and.......... no stalling???

Only side affect was a nice flutter sound thru gear changes and backing off!

If the dude likes the sound let him have it ffs....

Yes there is knowledge backing up the fact that it can hurt your car, There are also people who have done it and never had a problem.

Like the sound? Do it, its easy as hell.

Dont like the sound and think its stupid close the thread and move on.

Dont like the sound and think its stupid close the thread and move on.

Trouble is we get absolutely inundated with threads like this all the time...Rice modifications all aimed at getting a certain sound or certain look only...Quite often sounds and looks that make 'all' of us targets of the law...This pisses me off!!

Now if we don't at least make an attempt to quell threads like this by using deserved words such as knob etc, imagine how ricey SAU will become!!! 2 out of 3 threads will be titled "How do I make my Skyline sound / look like a 14yo really did design it??"

So maybe relax a bit on the people making their thoughts on ricey mods known because ricey mods make us all targets...If you dont like people doing this, close the thread and move on...

:) Feeling better now...

btw Tututuriffic thread guys!!!

One thing I did notice when I stuck a Mount Franklin lid in the BOV return on my S15 to get this 'hectik dose' was that the boost gauge would maintain a positive boost reading between gears...I notice with BOVs active, the gauge returned to 0"hg....

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
