:P

As opposed to the "big guys" who seem to dictate their own rules to the government :D

hahahahaha, you just made me think. when the 10% ethanol blend came to QLD, the servo that i was working at was one of the first 6 or so to get it. the price was the same for the ethanol blend as it was for regular 91 unblended. a customer came in one day and said, "Isn't there meant to be no tax on the ethanol blend, so it should be about 8c cheaper?" i had to stifle my laughter and tell him that government tax is somewhat higher than 8cpl.

They may have been thinking of the 8cpl subsidy the QLD govt used to do. In practise however, the servos in QLD pretty much set the prices about the same as other states and pocketed the extra 8cpl.

You're obviously referring to govt excise, which is much higher as you said.

I'm a bit twisted.

Today the servo price billboard had no prices so I stopped and went in.

"Because you are making such big profits, petrol is free today"

I am still going to where she told me, but its getting very hot.

You are a very mature, thoughtful and insightful person Hugh.

Oil companies and governments don't like you.

Is the P-P-P-P going to underpin its platform by advocating the removal of speed humps (- and put chicanes in instead)?

We know what heavy braking, alternating with changing down and accelerating does to fuel consumption.

Bloody petrol!

I need shares in the stuff as I'm current burning 18L per 100km ...

I thought I was bad at 16per.

Lucky I have a 25G,N/A to run around in now.

The RS4 has been on jack stands for 8 weeks. The longer it is there the more money I save.

HMMM,But all that rego and insurance money is going to waste.:sick::D:)

A while back there was a sign on a bowser, "Not paying for petrol is stealing" Some sage had written underneath, "So is a

$1.65 a litre.

THAT is gold, Hugh! If you ever find out who did it, shake their hand for me please!

Hi

My beef with the price changing is.

They get a tanker in at the start of the week say and haven’t sold all of it by the end of the week why does the fuel price change from mid week to weekend. Isn’t that like price gouging shouldn’t the price stay the same until all of the first tanker has been sold on.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
