yes, need to try some new slicks next year to keep up with everyone. so many fast times out there! as always, working on technique and consistency never hurts either.

will hopefully save the second hand tyres for practice sessions.

You not going to put a GTR badge onto the front bumper in the centre there? Seems to be really missing

Dont worry, will get the badge on there eventually, plenty of things happening with the car. all the carbon is yet to be clear coated.

Just purchased a new beast to tow the R35!

Wife refuses to let me use the TDi Q7 for Towingunsure.gif

1999 GU Patrol Ti 4.5L petrol jobbie. Damn the diesels are hard to find under 1 million km's

This one has only 14,000 km on the clock, and even smells like new!

going in for a Turbo upgrade with the guys at Mercury Motorsport this week. Thanks guysthumbsup.gif

Then off for a direct vapour injection LPG dual fuel conversion and a new fancy touch screen head unit because I am soft and like my gadgets

first time out this year on Tuesday 15th so getting a few things ready.

new michelin slicks (28/71-18 front and 31/71-18 rear, man I hope the weather holds out but the forecast isn't looking great.)

Dodson rear control arms.

New set of ME20 endless pads

Have cleaned up the carbon and finally given it a Matte clear coat. It was starting to look a little grubby and was impossible to clean.

Cameron from 'Cameron's bodyworks' sorted me out. really nice guy and good job. Had to use a few different cleaners to sort it out (gun cleaner?!) but it looks better than new!

Wow I always love seeing this car when I go see Trent, Tess and the boys. I actually think when I was in there last week was the first time I didn't see it I knew something was missing.

good to see that nitto had its engine in :D

Im looking forward to seeing this next time im there I hope :D

Also good to see a 35 close to my side of town. :D

interesting Dunc, some say with 'awd' you need to dial camber out in the rear, others say still need 2-3 degrees jsut like the rear whell drive porsche cup cars run.

we have had 1.7. the R35 does have a rear wheel driv bias I suppose

Anyway, looking for more initially, will go for 2.5. pyrometer testing tomorrow will be the answer i suppose (that is if the camber kit arrived as planned!)

many people mentioned 4 degrees up front was unecessary when I bought the front control arms. gotta say I think time has shown 4-5 up front is where you need to be with slicks at least.

I will let you know how it goes.

guys im only running

-2.5 front

-2 rear

and honestly i think its about all you need.

Ive run my GTR at EC, Bathurst, and now Phillip Island (probably done more track time than anyone in Australia at the moment) and unless someone can prove to me with lap time improvements that its worth another 3-5k investment in getting more camber i think you are wasting your money.

If it makes any difference its marginal.

My 19inch Michelin slicks after 3 days at the Island last weekend were worn perfectly evenly and tyre temps were consistent across the tyres all weekend etc.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
