It compares well with my other comp tester (I got this one as the tester that I had didn't have a small thread adapter) that I tested against a calibrated gauge when I worked for the national Measurement Institute.

Just did a quick browse. Metabo it looks like sell for $680 or so and 210nm max torque, the IR sells for about $800 but aroubd 1000nm max torque. For the sake of $100 or even $200 it's a MUCH better tool...

Just checked pricing on both for another guy

$816.75 for the IR W7150-k2 and $506.14 for the Metabo SSW 18 LT, both with 2 batteries and charger and case.

add about 15 in freight for either to me here in Canberra

Bloody hell that must be close to their AIR powered wrench torques! I'm finding my 160Nm Bosch impact a bit lacking at times. Did someone mention a group buy?!!

Looks like there is a salesman up here who sells IR gear. Apparently, $799 and they have one in stock. Otherwise I might even risk a stateside purchase. Anyway, enough of me derailing this thread.

That's not bad. Get tools direct quoted me $860 but I can get one from a distributor in Sydney for $800.

Noticed the Kinchrome tools have changed a bit in style and dont seem to be as good as they used to be. (Have the new 14mm one compared to the old 14mm one I have)

Also the craftsman tools in the US look to have moved to be made in China and no longer as good as the old made in US ones.

Dunno about that. He also said the warranty in Kincrome's are a headache to process as the rep guy has to come in to take a look.. Whereas KC ones, the shop itself can replace the item the same time..

Guess what boys 'n girls? Went to Costco today and found this. $158 for 150 pc kit imperial & metric. 1/2 & 3/8 ratchets with lotsa sockets.

Spanners are pretty rubbish to be honest, but still worth it for to socket set IMO.

Really wish I could have bought this but no money and no space.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
