I'm getting tyres fitted Saturday. I'm looking at a 245/45-18 as there is a greater choice in that size. Also thinking of a 235/45-18 to get a little stretch to help clear the guards. Not that big of a choice in that size either. I like the fact the 245/45-18 is a little taller than stock to help correct the spedo a little. I'm assuming all m35's read higher than actual speed. Just hope they don't hit the guards on bumps or steering lock.

I'm looking at nexen n1000, anyone had any experience with these?

Are nexens that much cheaper then say, KU31's? You should be able to get KU31's in that size for around 180-200 per corner...surely they're better then nexens?

Thats stupid. If you want ku31s, isn't there a sponsor on here that does them?

Otherwise call sa motorsport tyres, www.samotorsporttyres.com.au, and tell mark I sent you.

Agreed!

I ran AR-X 18x8 +40, but when I went to V35 18x8 +30; looks so much better! Consider +30 the absolute minimum; then get a little braver.

Also make sure you don't go too small on rolling dia, even 20's can get swallowed up in those big wheelarches if you go too low a profile.

ARX Rims are 7.5 wide, but I agree 8" wide +30 would fill the guards nicely.

Hmmm, I'm sure they're 18x8"; I never measured them though.

My 350GT rims are 18x8" and the tyres were stripped from the AR-X rims & fitted to the 350GT rims; fitted exactly the same.

Same sidewall angle; everything.

What brands do SAMotorsport tyres sell?

Check out their web site. They can get just about anything, but bread and butter is federal, hankook and silverstones.

I dont understand why people buy nice new wheels and put shitty nexen/nankang/generic crap on them. Grip ftw!

I'm looking at 245/40-19's.. Kuhmo KU31 for $205 a corner or Yokohama EP400 for $230.

Paul, I really don't know my tyres but how about Kuhmo KU19's? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/18INCH-245-45-18-kumho-ku-19-100y-/130572666135?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e66bcc517

I'm really happy with the ku31 on my 180sx. Im not sure how quiet they are though as the car is quite loud.

I think I'll just hunt around for the cheapest price on a ku31.

are these better or worse....Please note that they are 19's

My preference is to go for these this time around though!

anything is better than the shit I had on there!

They are the same (KU31). Nice price for 19's, shipping does kill the savings a little though....

Oh and KU31 > KU19.

KU19 comes as OEM on korean shit cars...

    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
