Am i able to sign up to SAU even though i don't have a skyline? I meant to ask this question on the day. If so, would love too as i fully support this club in what they do and practice.

Absolutely, Kory - the club is for Skyline enthusiasts, so it doesn't really matter what you drive. Heck, quite a few of our members and Execs (past and present) don't even own a Skyline anymore!

tip freaking top day. Had so much fun, as always as Wakie!!! Love that place.

Had a nice big screeching sliding off into the grass and mud in session 1 when i hit some coolant or something, apologies to Shell as my passenger........ was fun though!!!!!

My Dad had a blast in the Audi, and he loved taking passengers around all day. He was so proud that there was a queue of people waiting for a ride in the Audi ;)

Cant wait for another one. Also my camera battery died after taking 2 pictures on the day, DUH! So i'd be keen to get copies of anyones pics if that ok. Looking forward to that DVD of photos too!!!!

Cheers to Ando, Chubbs Clappa and co for all their hard work getting it organised. These days dont run themselves, and your hard work is greatly appreciated.

Andy

As Nick said, you can certainly sign up to become a member. ;)

PM me and I'll mail out forms, or check Secretary "Shell" and her Sig for a download.

Sorry, but I packed up the desk & forms at lunchtime. Cheers, T

I had a really good day :) everyone who ran it did such a good job!!

I finally went in a car Ando, happy now? Haha.

Will def be at the next one!

Don't know why you decided to go into a slow one though

Sounds like everyone had a good day, lots of PB's, including two zeds. Duncan's GTR went well. The Slot Car was getting pumped up ready for the next one.

Curious what was the fast car there?

Well now that the dust has settled and i've had a bit of time to go over the car i've found a few things as a result of the day:

Both front brake discs have hairline fractures everywhere on the donut's so that explains the vibration felt while braking after the first sessions. Replacements needed

Underbody is fine despite the grass cutting sessions, although the underside of the front cf lip copped it a little bit, there's no real damage

Front brake pads need to be replaced (time for ferodo ds2500's)

A second set of rims will be needed for track days!!!

Well it wasn't me John, I spent to much time spinning around in circles!

Had my first ever spin at the fish hook. I was using Khumo Ku36 tyres, and had no idea that a street tyre needed so much heat before they worked. Came out the pits nice and easy and barely made turn 1. Took it very easy up through the top and even coming in slowly into the hook, all 4 just let go and did a nice couple of 360's.

2 laps later though, they were awesome, and easily one of best street tyres you can get for the track.

John, It was the 32 GTR previously known as FAT R...makes 500kw at the treads or so

The first couple of spins really annoyed me (I think I was just trying too hard) And I thought to myself "I'm never gonna get this right" but I got used to it by the end of the day. I was still pretty happy with how I went at the end of the day for a big newb.

    • Thank you, 100% the intent. New coils were due and the 17" sixers look/feel loads better than the stock wheels. The aero options are so spot on.   Thanks for the warm welcome, all!
    • 98 r34 gtt Been rocking my latest setup and car running like never before. Have put a good 200 miles on it since all the latest changes and additions. everything is dialed in and have been driving it a bunch.   However, all a sudden last weekend as soon as I pushed throttle passed 4k and the engine stumbles, (slow or fast acceleration) hesitates and doesn’t go above 4100 or so, like a misfire. Everything else seems fine. I had a “good” set of coil packs that I removed from car when I first got it when I changed them over to new coils. I swapped out current ones for those, but no change. I also changed the plugs, no change. Seems to rev over 4 when out of gear with no load just fine no “misfire”, but as soon as its in gear with a load of any kind, it “misfires” as soon as rpm drop back below 4 k it runs perfectly, smooth, starts, restarts and drives fine as long as I keep it below 4 k while in gear. All readings look fine, no CEL   Any idea as to what could all a sudden cause an issue when pushing rpms passed 4 k?
    • When you say your cams are 272/262 is that 272in and 262ex?
    • We're arguing semantics. I am saying 45 accel and a 55 deccel ramp are "2 ways". Even a 45 degree ramp and an 89 degree ramp is "2 ways", because it is literally... two ways. The cusco 55/30 ramp is a 2 way. It's two ways. I get it though - in normal nomenclature a "2 way" would be 45/45 or 55/55 or 60/60 i.e the same locking in both directions. And something like 45/65 would be considered "1.5 way". I would then say if we're getting into the nitty gritty then every locking diff is a "2 way" diff and we should not speak in 1.5, or 2 ways but ramp angles instead. Which ofc if one of those ramp angles is 90deg, that side is not doing any locking. :p So Nismo don't obviously sell 3 things. The fact of the matter that they only sell two items really goes to show that there's a 2 way and a "1,5 way" which is really a 1 way. I believe the actual lockup for the 'adjustability' of the GT pro is really just setting preload for when the ramps actually start locking up. It's not changing how much 'wayness' there is. It is (somehow) horribly explained. People just buy whatever diff and go "locks up good bruh" and that's what ends up on socials forever.
