Caught person doing 140-160+ in 80 Zone who also went more than double the alcohol limit. The Drink driving ban is canceled out by the speeding ban. Impound, 1100 in fines and no driving for 12 months.

Lucky for him he didn't kill anyone. I'm glad I was doing laser duties when things were quiet and now have him off the road!

He wants to contest it saying his Honda Jazz doesn't go that fast.

you boys should be allowed to legally tazer the shit outta them LOL.. maybe this will teach them not to drink and drive.. anyone who repeats drink driving or is double the limit should automatically have the alcohol breathalizer installed to start their cars..

If the speeding fine overrides the alcohol.. Does that mean if he gets off (by chance) that he can't be charged with the alcohol? And LOL as if a Jazz can't go 140...

The speeding doesn't over ride the alcohol as such but when you lose it for 12 months for speeding the 11 month suspension for the alcohol becomes irrelevant. Should be served one after the other not concurrently but what can you do. I guess they don't expect to have people drink driving and speeding to such an extent.

I agree, should also be the same for jail sentences, sick of f**kers being found guilty for 6 or 7 offences but only doing a few months because thats what the longest sentence is, in reallity, if someone knows there going to jail for 12 months why dont they go on a crime spree, there not going to get a longer sentence.

i was thinking of mr eps lol

oh some of the posts in here remind me of rants to the Herald Sun. Given that most of you don't know anything regarding the context of the offences (apart from Graeme), perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to condemn?

TBQH I'd rather get done for drink driving than speeding, everyone I know who has gotten done has gotten off a LOT lighter with suspensions / fines, apart from the whole interlock thing.

So...you're saying he probably had a good excuse to be doing 60-80km/h over the speed limit while drunk? Well forgive us for assuming he was a baddie! Obvious devil's advocate troll is obvious.

no trolling brah, i'm just saying that you've been given some facts without context at all, and the usual white knight types give the usual reaction along the lines of "BURN THE WITCH1!!!!!!1!!!!"

if it was a member on here who had been done for an accidental clutch slip / wheelspin / impoundment, you'd all be up in arms, so I'm just pointing out the obvious here :P

speaking of 'obvious', it's quite obvious a little clutch slip does not lead to you being propelled to 60-80km/h over the speed limit nor does it put enough alcohol in your blood to send you over 0.05. Being over the legal blood-alcohol limit and while doing 60-80km/h over the speed limit are not little split second mistakes as your clutch example so the comparison does not work hence people probably would stick up for that person where this is complete disreguard for everyone including the driver themselves.

maybe it was boz in the car.. and he was travelling with one of his gf's.. and he knows that with his gf in the car.. there is no way power to weight ratio can get that Jazz up to 140..

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
