sad day at the stagea camp...

^^^ truth.

Hope it all works out for the best Rodney. Just wish Id known you and your car prior to this, never mind. What are your car plans after this is all sorted?

Yeah was found Tuesday

got a couple of ideas for the new rig,all I will say is that watever it is,it's gonna be rocking straight pipes again

I will be back in something equally as unique as my stagea (was)

Had mine written off

just cars must have rang Nissan or autech for a price on new 260rs sideskirts

ouch...

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If you can buy the wreck at a good price (assuming most of the components are Ok) you could get yourself an RS4T and transfer all the good bits over.
I guess in a sick way, now it looks like your Avatar! ;)

At least you got it home I guess

lot more smoke than that LOL......yeh went a got the car trailer!

Cop's(hwy) turned up while I was loading it.

Stupid question from them too as I was winching the car into the trailer:

Cop "What are you doing?

Me "If I have to spell it out bud there's a problem"

Cop "I asked you a question!"

Me "winching my car into the trailer officer :) "

Cop "are you being a smart arse?"

Me "I tell you what bud.....why don't you tell me what you would like me to say!......I don't want to be Captain Obvious here but really....what the f#$K do you think I am doing?"

Cop "Is this you car?"

Me Just answered that! :( "You want to buy it?

Dad " Craig shut up and keep loading the car I'll talk to the officer"

Me "Good idea.....I'm not dealing with fools very good ATM!"

Cop "Excuse me!"

Me " Yup you are!"

5 minutes later

Dad "Alway's have to be a smart arse don't you"

keeps lube in glove box for next time plod sees car on road

ow unlucky, hopefully just a seal and you havent sent an exhaust wheelll through the works.

spent yesterday arvo, and all day today cleaning the InsIDE of my car. took off all the seals, cleaned and conditioned them, cleaned all the doors and door jams, sunroof seals etc, hit all the furry stuff with upholstery cleaner.....it was an epic battle. also relocated the gizmo EBC from out of the glove box where it was rattling around, to just under the headunit. need to hook up a kill switch in the event that i get pulled over, but looks trick.

next weekend it will be exterior, and weekend after that, engine bay and underbody - but i'm slowly getting there! it'll be mint once its done.

question, does anyone have trouble with the rear sunroof not sealing up? it looks like the rear edge of mine could go up another 2-3mm - and i reckon it's letting water in. it tends to fog after a wash with the high pressure hose? tried to manually wind it a bit further, but wouldnt budge.

smokey... ive had this drama with mine b4.. passenger side at the rear, or the rear sunroof??

a guy on here put a little plate in his to hold it up... as theres no adjustment for close height as far as im aware... if there is its maxxed out.

do a search and u will find what im talking bout :D

sounds pretty similar chef. mine is on the drivers rear, and it's not letting water into the car - but there is enough of a gap for me to tell that it would be sending water down the guttering rather than letting the seal do it's work.

i found this: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/104404-leaky-body-sunroof-2.html

sounds like what you're talking about, did you do the same on yours??

got my alignment done

can someone have a squiz and tell me if the messed anything up?

i asked him to dial in as much caster as possible and he seemed confused and said "i don't think you will notice that on road tyres mate"

Thanks

Faark dude, even with my best squint I can't read that properly, hope someone's got better eyes than me. I'll have 6 beers and come back to it.

Around +5 deg 22" left, +4 deg 41" caster; -1 deg camber and +0.5mm toe was optimal on my old r31, and it needed camber/caster adjustable strut tops to get there; obviously there'll be some differences given the rear can also be aligned. How were they adjusting the caster? Are your caster rods adjustable?

On my NM35 they're not...

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
