Rad bike. Similar to mine. Used to race BMX for like 11ty years and riding a bike with different geometry just feels gay. I'll post a pic of mine tomorrow if i remember.

Anyhoo... here's a shot from texi waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. Someone here might recognise the car... this was taken before Me and Kory had 5 minutes with it in a carpark... all alone.

Love that shot, not sure why. Wish the DOF wasnt so shallow though, would be have been nice to get the mirror in focus.

Its my desktop picture atm. Everytime I see it I just stare at it for a while before doing anything :whistling:

I like that shot too, it works well (even though I'm not as much of a fan of R33s as I am of the other chassis).

With the DoF, you'll obviously have to shoot with a smaller aperture to get the mirror in focus too, maybe between around f/5.6 and f/8? That should still leave the car in the background with a nice bokeh effect.

The areas covered around the headlight/parker and the blinker and spotty are super-sharp, which is nice!

ooh nice - i got my first 29er the other day - loving it!! :(

ive been keen to try a 29r. thing that im worried about is tyre selection. well that and the fact i cant afford one anyway, haha.

mines just a regular 26" with 26x2.5 tyres. probably a bit too fat, but they were free and so nice skids so i'll run them till they wear out which by the look of them will be a long time, haha.

couple of pics from today...

Finally got a decent panning shot of a messenger with this Lumix. Kinda hard as im used to AF-C that focuses as you pan, so I had to guess where he would be riding and pre-focus there and hope for the best, lol.

great way to finish of a hard days work

Nick, I was using f1.8 cos I love the effect of the 50mm. I'll try lifting it up a bit and seeing how it goes.

LOL, I don't blame you - the bokeh with this lens wide open is great! I can't believe it costs less than $130. :):D

Agreed. i got my nifty fifty from ebay for $140 a while ago. Perfect for people and detail shots. so sharp and clean. DOF is mad. I was playing aruond with it last night in Nicks car as we were driving along. I'll post one up tonight.

For cars a 35mm 1.8 would be better, but the 50 is ok. just need to get back a distance if you're trying to get it all in frame.

    • I was 99% sure the standard one is long enough to get there, you might just have to change the throttle orientation. If not, I remember someone having used an r31 cable instead, but that is probably harder to find than r33 by now...
    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
