Great story and excellent exposure for us. Unfortunately Scott couldnt couldnt mention our little thread in the piece due to size constraints however we are getting a mention in their newsletter which has a circ of around 35,000 which is great.

Now, time to get Nissan to help us out.

what newsletter are u referring to ken? i'd like to get my hands on a copy

who owns that car & where is our update from your internal source :)

This one was passed in at the last Melbourne auction hence why it's in there under the Park and Sell option.....

Bob.

I don't know as I wasn't at the auction.

That part is misleading anyway as the auctioneers run phantom bids up near the reserve hoping someone will bid to cover the reserve price. If a car has a reserve of $40K, they will run the bidding up to mid-high $30's and hope it crosses the line or at least get close enough to submit the bid and negotiate after the auction. I have bought and sold cars at Shannons auctions so I understand their strategy.

You can't read it now but I remember looking at the inspection report on this car and it did have leaking turbos and quite a few other necessary repairs.

Not withstanding all of that, it looks a lovely car.

Throw a few grand at it and enjoy owning a rare classic!

Bob.

Here something of interest in regards to this car:

Was at the Melbourne Motorshow this year and took some pics.

The lighting (sun in the backgound) was terrible and positioning was not good without the crowd cutting in.

Did the best I could to get some pics.

All good Bob.

It was a bit dusty  the organisers of the stand should have really dusted it.

The GTR badge on the bonnet got me by surprise.

The Red Pearl Metallic or Wine Red, I like to call it, seemed to be the popular colour for the ADM R32 GTR's.

Jamie.

Yeah....... It should be a Nissan badge.

Burgandy was the in colour in the late 80's / early 90's........ HDT VL Group A and HSV VN Group A's were very similar colours too.....

So most probably the previous owner put the GTR badge on the bonnet, I'd assume...

Here's another I just found on Carpoint......... http://www.carpoint....mode%20matchany

Bob.

Looks to be Sime's R32 GTR as posted above my pics :)

The R34 GTR seats look great too.

A few inches lower all round for the ride height and it would look even better.

Yep that sure is my adm unfortunately i have made the decision to let her go but only to someone that knows what they are about and will give her the respect and care she deserves even though its not something i particularly want to do but at this point in time i have too  And as above the gtr badge on the bonnet caught my attention straight away good work on the photo's i can imagine they wouldve been quite difficult with the surroundings and crowds but none the less the gtr looks to be in fantastic condition but any ideas on how many owners or did i miss this out somewhere :)

I'm pretty sure it's a 2 owner car......

Bob.

indeed a very nice example, also in the compiled gtr list we've worked on:

21. 36 of 100 (16107), VIC plates GTR500

    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
