I have seen one of the ex pace cars. It was completely factory except it was British racing green but was so long ago I wouldn't even know where the car was anymore.

Edit: I was told at the time it was the pace car for the 92 Bathurst and if you watch footage it was definitely a British racing green Aussie Gtr

Yes....... The car you are referring to was Bob Roman's (Autotek) Recaro/Momo promotional car.

I have a few articles on it and I'm sure in one of them it comments on a black to green paintjob.

It had numerous different paint/wheel and trim schemes.

Here are a couple of articles on it, unfortunately I need to go to work so I post them all up.

It looks black in the attachments but in the actual magazine you can clearly see it's a dark metallic green.

Cheers,

Bob.

Good work bob!! that is the car, when I saw it 10 years ago it had a different set of momo wheels on it and now that you say it I remember them mentioning it being a momo promo car.

When I get home from Fiji I will ring my friend to see if he still knows where it is

Ok....... Sorry for the delay but day to day life got in the way.

Attached is a new spreadsheet with the correct build numbers matched to VIN's in sequential order from lowest to highest.

With the correction surrounding the 15145/16145 anomaly (myself included), anyone who has/had a build number under 45 needs to deduct 1.......... I go from 27 back to 26 etc.

The final count of colours within the 100 ADM's is:

  • 44 Red Pearl Metallic's - Paint Code AH3
  • 32 Black Pearl Metallic's - Paint Code 732
  • 24 Jet Silver Metallic's - Paint Code KG1
Based on my research and information supplied within these 50+ pages, these numbers are much more in line than the previously published ones. The 37/Red, 37/Silver and 26/Black theory just doesn't stack up.

Whilst as a matter of respect to my informant, I won't post up a complete list of colours mated to VIN's but if anyone has a one off enquiry, I'm happy to supply the info via PM's.

Cheers,

Bob.

Hey Bob,

Can you confirm what colour is supposed to be on build number 016045.

Hey guys, I thought I would update you on a recent purchase........

I purchased build number 63 a few weeks back and unveiled it at last weeks 25th Anniversary get-together.

She needed a little bit of TLC which was given. It's now getting close to being where I want it to be.

Cheers,

Bob.

    • That's awesome. Fully serviced/full log book history for one of those cars is super rare from what I know. With JDM's like Skyline's, Supras, are quite hard to find one with full log book history. S15's seem to be somewhat of an exception, at least the spec s australian delivered models.
    • Hey all, It's been a bit since I have been able to update.  I pulled the fuel pump, first off it was a "universal" pump and the strainer was very clogged, and it was folded over on itself.  I replaced the fuel pump and all is well....  No more stalling.
    • That's convinced me I'll bump up the G30-660 to 770   Any idea if the difference in boost pressure? Cheers

    • Hey guys so turns out this project is going to be much bigger than I thought haha but I've done some my homework and have done a few panels on my car, but one part I can just not visualise is this. If I do a spot repair and I put filler in a dent for example and sand outside of the repair with 320 grit lets say so the primer can stick as I will only put primer on that repair and the surrounding area and then repaint the whole panel. Don't I need to make sure that I don't put primer on the old clear coat? I keep seeing YouTube videos where people have new paint and primer land on the old clearcoat that isn't even dulled down, it's still shiny. I thought putting paint on clearcoat or primer on clearcoat is a bad idea because it won't stick. So in this scenario it's a bit different to mine but imagine someone doing a spot repair and only painting that small section of repair but the new paint is landing on the old clearcoat. What am I missing?
