all I can say is how fkign good was webber on alonso? pass of the year! loved it. he just went, 'fk this, going round the outside at aeu rouge, just close my eyes, hold my breath and hope alonso doesn't want to die right now'. it was epic.

oh and schumi showed an old style drive where he used to be able to go from back of the grid to win races. he didn't win but 24th to 5th was pretty awesome given his car is not amongst the best 6 cars on the grid (2 X RBR, 2 X Mac, 2 X Fez). pretty good drive to celebrate his 20 years in F1 with a drive that really proved he's not as far over the hill as people might think.

So just lacking the motivation to drive like he did?

absolutely brilliant... the camera angle on that part of the circuit really shows off the car's speed... but watching the in-car made my arsehole pucker and I was lying on my couch at the time... imagine being in the car! guts baby, F1 delivers... sometimes;)

now if he can just work out how to get off the line at the start of a race...

Not like its an isolated incident either, race after race...

Conspiracy me thinks, Helmut pulling a few strings there for his boy :P

It was a nice pass, but with Alonso on cold tires having just left the pits, he was never gonna fight as hard as he may have if everything was up to temp

This. Don't get me wrong, I'm as one-eyed as a lot of the other Webber supporters but when Alonso leaves the pits with only 100 or so degrees in his rubber (is that about what they hold in the warmers?) You can forgive the guy for being a little bit timid.

However, what was his excuse throughout the rest of the race? Was it just me or did Alonso seem far too polite during some of the overtaking he was subjected to. I'm no Ferrari fan, but I do like to see the guys squabble over position a bit.

DRS made it far too easy. Can't say I'm a real big fan of it in general.

I wonder how different the results might have been had Button started from a decent position and Webber got off the line cleanly (among many other things).

GOD I love watching Spa.

That may have been 'some' peoples complaints Nick but not me :D

I don't mind KERS when everyone has it and it's a level playing field but I just think that DRS makes it a bit easy sometimes.

Perhaps next year they will reduce the DRS zones by a few hundred meters here and there. Then we can at least see the guys battle it out under brakes a bit more.

I guess the cost of being to forceful repelling an overtake when they will just hose you next lap with DRS is the issue. If you know you can hold them for the next 10 laps then perhaps there is a reason to defend aggressively.

That sums it up perfectly. As much as they're all racers, when the advantage over you is that great it's pointless trying to defend and risk an incident.

Even kobyashi said he had no interest in fighting hamo to get the position back as he didn't have the pace, and we know kamui doesn't mind defending/passing

Yep, hit the nail on the head I reckon.

kubica update

pf1

The Polish driver suffered severe injuries in a rally accident in February, which damaged his leg, arm and shoulder. He underwent four separate surgeries during his 10 week stay in an Italian hospital.

Since his release, Kubica has been at home in Monaco recovering and working on his rehabilitation. However, it soon discovered that he would need a fifth operation to restore full mobility to his right elbow.

That surgery took place on Sunday with his Lotus Renault GP team revealing that he is in "good spirits."

A Renault statement read: "Today, Robert underwent one last scheduled operation in Italy aimed at recovering the full mobility of his right elbow.

"The surgeons are happy to report they been able to complete 100% of their task and did not encounter any complications.

"They have described the outcome of the operation as a total success.

"On waking up it was immediately clear Robert was in good spirits. As soon as he opened his eyes he asked for the result of today's race (the Belgian Grand Prix).

"He will now rest in hospital for a few days before resuming his rehabilitation and training programme."

he seams in good spirits. :)

"Lewis is one of the best drivers in Formula One if he would stop making stupid mistakes," he told the Guardian.

As for this year's title race, Lauda believes Sebastian Vettel's victory at Spa, which saw him take 92-point lead in the Drivers' Championship, has sealed it for the Red Bull driver.

"It's certainly all over," the Austrian told The Telegraph.

"No question about it, the only question is when. It could happen theoretically in Singapore. It could easily happen in Japan but for sure in Korea if not before."

he's getting it from all sides isn't he.

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
