I was playing it the other night, was saving up some funds. haha when i come across a BEAUTIFUL SILVER 400R sitting there for sale, so of course couldnt resist it. 120000 gone just like that!

hahaha worth it though!! i also brought a midnight purple 33 gtr 97!! lol and i agree with with a earlier post about being able to change the wheels on non premium cars.

good gaming with Cam, James, Chris and someone else(cannot remember his nameblush.gif)

Was good to do online with some good clean drivers!

Cannot wait for the next one with some more people.......hopefully I can find some competition! :P

P.S. Need faster car!

Clean racing? First thing I did was throw my controller against the wall (useless internet) and managed to start the race by accident....:whistling:

Then on the first corner I plowed into the back of Cam.. :nyaanyaa:

I will try a wired connection next time... don't know what was going on.

Yeah, definitely need to get about 10 on at the same time.

Competition? I believe you only "won" 2 races last night mate

Hoping that Chris can get his internet connection sorted for the next go-around :)

Huh!.....Won 3 Le Man, London and that Ring one me think's there buddy.....2nd in one.......last the those shitty go cart thing(ffs what the hell!) and then last in the wet....by quite some distance from memory(Had time to have a piss while I was waiting for you guy's to come around again though!...but who's countingwhistling.gif

Now the big question Cam......was it only one first I saw you get........one second and the rest were all last? nyaanyaa.gif

It does seem like you will be able to take your "L"'s off soon though!cheers.gif

Yep, only 1 first last night. Meh, waddya do?

and you only "won" 2. We handed you the third out of driver(s) error. :nyaanyaa:

No need to tanti because you couldn't win (or get remotely close) in the karts (the only vehicles we were all on a level playing field in). A little more practice and I'm sure you will be able to control one :P

That last race was boring but frustratingly funny. 24km. 99% straight. Rain.... won't be playing that track again.

Next time, go-karts at De La Sarthe in the rain and dark lol (kidding, unless you want an exercise in frustration and boredom)

Jeez, how hard is it to charge a battery before you play? :P

Nice to see your GT350 out there though

LOL, I haven't used the headphones for anything at all for ages, so I haven't needed to have them charged.

That 'Stang is a pretty nice car to drive, actually. Pretty surprising for an old American car, but then again it is a Shelby, so maybe the suspension tune was made better for race homologation or whatever. I haven't done any suspension mods to it yet.

just borrowed gt5 from a mate (dunno if hes gonna get it back yet)

if anyone wants to add me on psn "peanut101" is the name

just put your sau user name on the request so i know your not just another random

I've learned 2 things today:

1/ dont lend anything to SatchiThaStagea :P

2/ You can get a trophy for rolling your race car.

Which in fact is funny, because I have one of those trophies in real life too!

anyone here raced in the GT500/GT300 rooms at all? you can usually find me lurking around there. and the think i like about those rooms are the close racing. This is a example of a typical night in the GT500/300 room

i've finished everything bar the endurance races. and looking at them, i don't really feel that inclined to do them. 24 hours around nurburgring isn't really that appealing. i like the seasonal events though, gives me something to keep going on.

Perhaps if they allowed a mid race save option when in the pits the endurance races would be more palatable... or if you could have your B-spec driver/s race in turn (without having sit and watch of course - sorta like in GT4).

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't play much online, but if anyone wants to add me, I'm on there as "bigkevracer".

Haven't seen any Stagea's in the used car market, unlike in GT4, but if anyone wants to sell me/gift me one, I'd appreciate it ;)

My best car is probably my R35 Skyline, but I bought the collectors version, so I have all the Chromeline and Black versions.

What time roughly? I haven't played online yet

Usually about 9:00pm.

Too bad you left that last race at a wet Le Mans Chris.

At the finish line, 1.2seconds separated the 1st Corvette (James), 2nd Corvette (Craig) and my lowly SS Commonwhore

Mind you, there was a little bit of corner cutting throughout.

id play, but thats drinking time......

Mine too ....I just combine two of the best things cars and drinking...no use even asking the wife for the third thing!

    • Cheers. Skyline is back on the menu, can’t get rid of it. It’s like a child you don’t want, or herpes
    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
