yup.. we left at 3pm and it was looking pretty dead. "Finals" if you could call them that weren't until about 4pm or something. And I don't think anybody really could be bothered sticking around. Most of the cars had given up trying to get good times and just let their cars stay safe in the shade. So there wasn't even much to watch by that stage.

Organisers would have lost lots of money I would say due to the temperature. Right concept I reckon, but just wrong day for it.

Definitely just bad luck with the weather, plus it is a new event and it takes awhile for something like this to really catch on.

I think the Summernats had a bad turnout the first couple of years, but look at it now (mind you that was waaaay before my time, so I could be wrong)

what times did you run psi 350.... your engine bay looked impressive....

Hey Mark I ran a 12.3 @118mph, had a few dramas with traction and still running in the engine with a bit of a fat tune, but im happy with that now untill i get a bit more time to mess with it!

psi350 how many rwks are you making so far...what a/f ratio are you running i think mine is 12 to 1...also a bit rich....

yes it was a hot day my intercooler outlet temp was at 50deg after a run... not good usually 30 to 32 deg...

Mark im running around 12:1 at full boost, whaen the motor runs in a little more i'll lean it out to about 13 or 13.2:1

Bonnet saved 14KG, bootlid saved 12Kg, fenders wouldn't be very much, body kit probably about 10Kg over the fibreglass equiv. rear seat 9Kg pass seat 9Kg.

I weighed mine with mick51in it (65Kg) it came up 1304Kg with half tank of fuel. Thats pretty much stock with 400r front bar which is probably a little heavier than origional + the Recaro driver seat is heavier than origional.

I think that car is a demo car for the place.. so probably didn't cost him that much. Anybody else, I'd imagine it wouldn't be cheap.

strange.. isn't stock factory weight meant to be 1390kg? Thats a under what i would have thought. Hmm, wonder how much mine weighs? I'm probably lugging 100kg of crap i don't need..

Guards are only 3kg each (weighed them).. you wouldn't save much from c/f. Doors probably would be biggest reduction if you could get them carbon (you can, but from japan they're $2k each or something)

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
