Coz she was on the wrong side of the road blocking oncoming traffic.

I drive througfh there quite often in my truck, you'd be surprised how many people do this. At least they have the courtesy to get out of the way....

I see this type of idiocy every day, you learn to accept it and not worth the trouble most of the time...

Cab drivers are the best though, especially when someone puts their hand up on the footpath, cabbie comes in from the right lane pit stop styles!!!! Have come close to taking a few out over the years....

without watching it again isnt she on teh wrong side of the road because a truck is parked in her lane and she has no choice but to go around it? thus the truck should have waited and not been a cawk about it.

Yup, there is that too and by a truck no less.

That would have been very very nasty.

B doubles 60 tonnes loaded add the weight of truck and trailers together you have the best part of nearly 100 tonnes. no open casket if that had of happened.

also without watching it again it looked like she was going the wrong way down a one way street. Just what I saw anyway I could be wrong of course

Your wrong again, here's the deal.

The Linfox truck Is stationary at the set of lights waiting to turn into Victoria street. South auderley road is a two way street so the lady in the car for whatever reason has attempted to overtake the truck on the wrong side of the road. The Linfox truck is not parked or blocking the road, it's waiting for the green light to turn into Victoria street. So therefore the twit in the car is in the wrong and the b-double had every right to drive in the lane it did and should have not waited for the car to pass as it would have blocked Victoria street causing mayhem.

Hope that helps.

My arguement is, I see a LOT of truck drivers doing well over the 100 kmh speed limit; Yet their trucks apparently say "90 kmh speed restricted"? Some idiots need their licence taken away.

Im on the road day in day out for work as well, And even I've seen some pretty crazy shit.

You need to respect trucks on the road, Look at their tare weight. They are beasts on the road.

I take my hat off to the guy who recorded that. We need more drivers like HIM on the road, And not wankers who think a 40tonne truck is a sports car.

did just watch it again, looks to me as if linfox truck has hazards on maybe? not sure stopped a long way back from the line if he is wanting to turn.

either way doesnt change my opinion of truck drivers i could drive around with a camera mounted in my car and edit all the bits to show the awesome tailgating, intimidation, dangerous lane changes, rolling halfway through an intersection cos the light *will* change *eventually* or the not even bothering to stop when they most likely could have and yes sometimes they cant but really i dont think the road laws allow for "oh that light changed you were probably going to fast anyway to stop by the time its RED so thats ok just steam roll through" well after its red

haha so whats the answer to the question in the vid? How close was it really to the towtruck :P

Honestly didn't notice the tow truck till after i was across.

To me it wasn't close i even missed the gear and slowed down a little bit before booting it if you notice.

In the vid made it look a lot closer.

Funny thing was as soon as i saw this thread it made me thing of that exact thing making me go don't be on it. My luck >_<

Alex: The Linfox driver starts moving after Patrick has turned the corner.

My guess, allowing him enough room for the cut-in of the B trailer.

If you believe that you can do a better job driving trucks, then please, be my guest!

Patrick: What prime mover are you driving?

Would be fun though haha

I have no interest in a driving a truck what so ever, but dont try and tell me how bad all the other drivers are i watched a truck today on teh ring road push everyone out of its way as it was doing well over the speed limit and if someone didnt move he rode there bumper on those air brakes making a heap of noise until they moved not to mention the dodgy lane changing..

truck drivers calling other people bad drivers is an absolute joke!

    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
