i duno. went to super cheap skates and just grabbed it off the shelf.

airflow sensor cleaner or something.

Nice! Cheers :)

Pics of the install.

Looks good Adam, your sub box still fits in snuggly. Rear strut brace is one o the best rear suspension mods you can do IMO, helps take out a bit of the twist and stiffen the rear up. You'll notice the difference after a drive

are you having Idle issues bud?

OHHH I sold the exhaust! :D

Nah not really, just the occaisional pop on idle. More the point that I'm running a 2nd hand z32 afm that could probably do with a clean!

Excuse my noobieness but where is the maf sensor on the m35? Is it directly behind the air filter or up on top of the engine after the intercooler pipe?

First plug after the air box.....grey one!

Thanks!

Today I replaced both cam angle sensors after the stalling experience at 60km/h.

The passenger side one was fine but the drivers side was a real pain in the ass. Anyway, no error codes or stalling so far so hopefully that problem is fixed.

My Stag is also surging a little bit under part throttle which I've heard can be caused by an old 02 sensor so I've ordered a new one from NIssan.

Hopefully everything will be in order before my newly purchased Impul ECU arrives from Japan !

Thanks!

where are you located Steve?....I have a second hand O2 Sensor you can try before you buy if you want and your local.....Have you paid for the one from Nissan yet?

fair enough. cleaning mine fixed up the popping and the lengthy starting issue let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the offer but I'm up in Brisbane.

My car has done over 100,000k so I'm happy to have a fresh one.

replaced both burners with another set of cheapo chinese HIDs.

also removed and cleaned the inside of my aero driving lights. they look good now!! thanks for the info on that benny!

Where did Benny give you tips on that Iain? Mine are really cloudy too & would love to fix them without stuffing it up.

changed my fuel filter today after two tanks of e85..

was expecting the filter to be filthy but wasnt too bad. maybe the myth of e85 cleaning the petrol tank is falsomoondo

i spoke to him in person, Leon.

they are easy to remove. two push clips to remove the surround.

4 bolts that hold the actual light unit in.

once its removed, unplug. then the whole backing comes off. youll need to unscrew the adjustment screw all the way, then each side has a push clip that will allow the reflector to pop out. let it come out, and youre left with it and the glass and frame!

clean, reverse above to get it back together. just remember to screw the adjustment screw back in or the lights will be pointing at the sky :P

Last weekend I installed the new hd tv tuner I got from commsman. With his info it was a sinch to install. Being hd every now and then I lose the reception but i mainly bought it so I can hook up a hard drive and my son can watch his movies on trips. Tomorrow I will be debadging the rear of my 250t rx. Hopefully everything goes to plan.

Installed new Tein Super Wagons - Needs some adjusting but extremely happy with the result. Not adjusted properly. Veerrryy low at the rear

Will post some pics of car when i have adjusted them properly.

Also installed new brakes all round - RDA standard rotors but had them custom slotted and dimpled locally. Installed with Dixcel Street Pads from Japan. Very happy with the results.

I'm glad the install was easy. Being in Brisvegas, I'm surprised you don't have perfect reception all the time. Is it just the HD channels that freeze occasionally or even the SD ones? During my testing I didn't see it drop out once, but then I didn't drive everywhere I guess. I think Chook said his (Asuka) worked everywhere that he went.

Are you hooking up the hard drive via the USB port? Will it need external power to operate? I'm not sure how much power the tuner USB port supplies.

    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
    • The roof is wrapped
    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
