Under the air filter there is a perfect spot for my second catch can. Amazingly I also found an unused threaded hole in the chassis rail!

Mr Nissan must have known I would need one!

The driver's side was more problematic for me as the can I bought is too big. It's jammed in the brake booster compartment for now til I get a smaller one.

congrats to all the new parents. hope to see your bundles of joy at the next stagea cruise.

In other news..... I had my Shift kit installed today, full trans service and flush, and attesa flush and bleed.

The car shifts sooo much better now, especially at low speeds. and at higher rpm with tiptronic on, it actually shifts when you press the button,

instead of waiting for a few seconds(normally resulting in limiter bash and flames)

But I liked the flames!

Be good to check it out on the cruise!

Speaking of babies, I got my Stag the day before my daughter was born, which was a month ago yesterday :)

Done to the Stagea lately:

Cam cover gaskets

Running high boost mode on the stock solenoid

Flushed my power steering fluid

Replaced my rear brake pads (housemate who works at Veale Autoparts said they have the pads that suit listed as being for a Nissan 300c)

Front pads, master cylinder stopper and brake fluid flush to come :)

We should start a thread "What have you done to your WIFE lately"

That will be one thread not worth visiting for me!! :(

As I mentioned to my wife when asked why I am so randy all the time "Yes dear, there is a f#$king reason I am so randy.....I can count the number of times we have done in the last year on one hand....not what you signed up for just quietly......W = Washing - I = Ironing - F = F#$king - E = Everything!"

.....would be good if she did at least one of her chosen WIFE titles!"rant.gif

haha, if she reads it, it will be more a case of 'what HAVEN'T you done lately'.....

been getting some progress with mine lately. makes me want to keep it, partly because it's looking hot and running like a dream - partly because i have spent so many labour hours on it lately and nearly lost a thumb in the process! there is blood on the cam covers still!

over the last few weekends it has been:

- rolled rear gaurds

- fitted BBS LM's 19x9.5 (+20 front, +5 rear with bolt on spacers fitted)

- lowered another 35mm

- wheel alignment

- Platinum plugs

- Adonised R33 Calipers red

- New project MU pads up front

- German spec DRL's mounted in side vents

- sprayed cooler black, black hose fittings - stealthy

- Stage21 front lip, wrapped in Carbon fibre

- M35 rear wiper

- shaved rear badges

- Rays wheel nuts

on the to do list:

-Fit r33 radiator air guide (hasn’t arrived yet so don’t know how much modding will be required)

-Fit new bonnet struts (from a 95 Maxima – haven’t arrived – hope they fit)

-Fit Red/Gold BBS center caps

-Heat shield for pod and find some way to get cold air to it (!!)

-Neo tech rear camber arms

-Raise car 10mm – lip hits my driveway >:-(

-another alignment

-Do some serious cleaning in engine bay – has been neglected for too long! then might start detailing some parts.......

it never ends, and it's hard work when you don't have a garage and you're not allowed to work on your car in the body corporate carpark.

That will be one thread not worth visiting for me!! :(

yeh mate I got fed up with the lack of support from the wife, seperated last august.

hope you can work things out............

Shouldn't there be either a "C" for "cooking" or an "S" for "sammich maker" in that title?

Maybe you should turn the tables :)

Let her know you don't need her for it by putting on some pr0n and giving it a crank in the lounge room after dinner.... or better still, when you are both in bed getting ready for sleep.

With a bit of luck, that daily display of reverse psychology should net you the return you are after.

If it doesn't, it least you'll sleep well

Goddamn dude...I feel for you. Not that I really know how it feels...I just feel sorry for your predicament! :-(

On a side note, my wife complains that I dont let her feed for me more often(she bakes daily just so I have snacks at work, she makes my lunch everyday and breakfast on weekends and she cooks my dinner on nights that I don't get take away) she does all the washing, cleans the house, helps me work on my cars (even does stuff on them when I'm at work if I need her to, removing/installing turbos is her best skill, small hands lol) and to put it plainly bed manor isn't a problem. Maybe I'm just lucky

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
