What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Hmm...is that the same story for the PNM35? The lack of exhaust noise is something that annoys my wife about the Stagea. I got quotes for custom exhausts that are incompatible with marital congress but if I can just swap the mid-pipe cheaply for a bit more noise then it could be an option.

I remember V36 components also being compatible but can't remember which.

[edit] Actually I just googled it up and found the Youtube clip, nm. [/edit]

Yup, it was an PNM35 owner that did it first ;)

Exactly as Nick has said. Fits, but best to remove driveshaft loop, cause it bangs.

350z is comparable too. Just need to lengthen it by 7-8 inches from memory. Best to measure yourself. Makes a bit of an improvement in the exhaust, but nothing like a proper cat back.

Why not just gat a fully sick muffler welded on to the standard exhaust.

The first stagea I test drove was a m35 with exhaust mod...

Ohh the drone...

I promptly handed the keys back to owner...

The mid pipe mod won't drone.

Neither does the fujitsubu nor the nismo. If you've seen them, you'll know why.

Removing the driveshaft loop doesn't seem like a great idea... But hey, if it saves you $20...

When's the last time you saw one of these snap a driveshaft....?

Agree, not the best solution, but risk is a 0.0000000000001 thing.

Surely just because these great vehicles are so low in price to purchase... Personally it doesn't seem right to modify them on the cheap...

I wouldn't call it modifying in the cheap. I'd call it modifying smartly. If you want a bit of extra flow and noise, the v35 mid pipe is an awesome option. Especially seeing as it's an often thrown away part once coupe owners install after markets. It's Oem quality. It's a larger bore than the stock m35 item, and has a less restrictive muffler. It's also about 1/3 of the weight.

Not everyone wants to, or can spend $1300 getting a fujitsubu delivered from japan...

I'd spend a lot more money (and have in the past) if it was going to be a track car, but all I'm after is something to give the car a bit more of a decent sound and stop my wife from wincing every time she starts it up. It just sounds anaemic compared to our Commodore.

Maybe not so keen if it means removing the driveshaft loop though. Will think it over, cheers.

$1200 at last check, but that is the top shelf Fujitsubo, there are much cheaper options around...

Yup, but not free! Lol

Matt, look into second hand systems. Anything from the V35 sedans or the earlier model m35s will fit. Seeing as you have a lot more imports over there, I suspect you should be able to find something in the wreckers pretty easy.

Can't have the m35 sounding shit next to a crummydore!

I happily wave goodbye to my missus as she drives of in her honda Jazz...

Certainly stops any unwanted noise or drone and takes care of all performance restrictions.

Its a Blokes world...
