Moving along here with some real progress thanks to clint/panik who has been working on the exh and wg plumbing. It's coming together very nicely.

Also picked up a battery from the US through NST - good pricing and prompt delivery. Should save a few kg's over the optima that was in there previously.

Hey Corey - a good mate lent me his spare 26/30 to trial fit various bit's and pieces so I can answer you now. The manifold places the turbo higher than the motor, I have only a few mm clearance between the bonnet and comp cover (less than I have btw the motor and bonnet). The front waste gate sits pretty close to the strut tower as well. As mentioned before the gate plumbing will be fun.

top build, always of the highest quality too :) i would be happy letting you work on my car with the standard of work produced! build ups always look so easy on an internet thread lol, i think it will be worth it though.

Clint also added a bracket to stop it moving around now there's a flexi and remounted the muffler up higher to suit the standard rear bumper

The diff mount was from z31parts but it failed in fairly dramatic fashion so I wouldn't recommend one. It was replaced with a solid mount..which reminds me I need to find solid alloy subframe bushes to replace the nolathane ones which allow the subframe to move too much.

Is the alloy one custom? or do you have a link to where you got it?

I get so much shudder/tramp its not funny....

The current diff mount was cut from steel equal angle into which we drilled a couple of holes :P I did some googling and z31parts have beefed up there diff mounts, the new ones look a lot more robust. I'm sticking with solid though, it's not a daily so the noise is tolerable.

Thanks Steve. Stock rear and keeping the rest as is, would consider 31house stuff as a last resort if it looks too odd but not on the radar at the moment. The front sits nice and low which should make a front undertray fairly easy to put together. I'm trying to avoid doing anything which doesn't bring it closer to running at this stage.

The uras kit hangs very low at the rear so it's effectively a big air brake.

Going to be running sensors for fuel and oil pressure through the ecu rather than the more basic pressure switch set-up to protect the engine. Not sure exactly how this will be set-up at this stage though - fuel pressure will need to be mapped vs rpm.

Sensors are 1/8 npt, this is the port for fuel pressure.

1/2" (8an) fuel feed line will also be added and planning to use the standard 6an return line.

You would need to see someone who specialises in flocking, I don't believe a motor trimmer would be able to help you. Refer here for a basic description of the process (basically apply glue to the dash, earth it and spray on the material (flock) using a negative charge). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flocking_(texture)

I was charged 150 but I'm told that's on the cheap side.

Well Brad Stacy did not disappoint, all the fab work is complete and to a very high standard. Just need to do all the fuel/vac/oil plumbing and then it's ready for wire and maybe one day the engine will get built (6months and counting waiting for the new head).

Remounted the thermos (got rid of the plastic clamps), mounted the accusump and added a bolt in radiator support bar with secondary bonnet restraint.

    • Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Replace the turbos. Probably completely separate issues.
    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
