Turbo- garrett 2k mark

550-700cccc injectors 500-700

full exhaust, cat, dump 1400

fpr 300

ecu tune (nistune) 1k

FMIC, 500

looking at about 5-6k all up excluding labor depending on what and where you getting it from.

also depends on how long you want it to last for. 400hp is a big mark for a stock rb25, not impossible, but a heap of strain none the less.

It doesn't have to be laggy at all, just get a high stall converter when they build your box.

How much of the work can you do yourself? These get expensive to modify if you are paying by the hour, mechanics generally have no clue on M35's.

The tubo was the best upgrade so far for my M35. I put a dump in there at the same time.

This was $2300.

Still need rest of exhaust and Intercooler.

Wont be getting what your after still. But it would be good for the wife.

If you want a drive Matt I can come around if you havent been in one yet.

But I reckon the best bang for buck is an english conversion. So you can read how your fuel economy gets worse after every mod. From putting foot down.

Should of bought danwatts M35 end of last year. That was a killa. Allready had lots of mods

haha good one brad, that would be good and of course ill get the conversion done.

sorry it will be an M35 (its hard enough talking the other half into a wagon as it is so she prefers the look of the M35 and yes i will be putting a stall convertor in(probably between 2500 and 3000rpm) also valve body upgrade will be done.

I wont be using E85 as still not avaiable in the areas i need it(thats why ill be keeping an eye on the topic with the guy trying the liquid gas system)

will be working on 20k mark for the car plus the mods (and no loans so all my own money)

matt

There is a link in another M35 topic about parts from the states. Stroker kits, head upgrades...

I am also interested in M35 upgrades, but more thinking about a 4.2 stroker and big single setup.

And still want auto awd.

It wont happen with this box... and where would you put the turbo? I cant fit bigger than a to4 front housing in the stock position, it would need to go where the airbox is I guess.

Ok, how much is a lot of cash? I have spent over 4k and it isnt holding up well at 300kw, I wont be spending any more on it as everything has been done... The clutches are just too small in diameter.

34 Getrag is the only way forward from here unless you go 4 speed auto, same issues with the bell housing though and the ecu will crap itself with either mod.

Best bang for your buck....buy mine for $15,000 and stick a new gearbox in it!.....every thing else in new on it!

Looks like the auto can be built up by Keas for 700hp. There is a guy on calaisturbo getting a awd auto build for over 1000hp for a 26/30 so im sure someone could do the M35 box.

As for the ecu I would change to Haltech or Motec so there shouldnt be any problems there.

What box is that bud? Cannot figure out why you would go to our gearbox for an RB26/30! As for the ECU unless you can go to manual or figure out another way to control our GB ecu the motec M800 or Haltech PS2000 is a waist of money.

I have heard plenty of people tell me they can build the box to hold heaps of HP.....you still have to deal with the GB ecu though!

Love your thoughts though! on how easy it is that is!

I was meaning that a tough awd auto for the above mentioned 26/30 (powerglide) could be built so im sure there is someone out there that would build something for the M35..

Ahh, a different auto, of course it will hold then, like I said the 4 speed will work too, the ecu won't though and you really need it to work in these cars. Perhaps you could trick it into thinking the gearbox is still in there but you would need a cable throttle, or Motec m800 to control the electronic throttle...

lol.....great for straight line mate...shit I was using powersglides 20 years ago......Drag racing is for poof's imo!.......couldn't give a shit if a car does a 10 second quarter....show me it's still pulling at the same rate over 1000m and I'm impressed!......I want a gearbox that is drivable as an every day....or more to the point on the track!

P.S. Mate not be an ahole either....all in jest and conversation!....just don't want you to take what I'm saying the wrong way!

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
