Not looking good LOL

Of course it is a different ECU to the Z33.

Different engine, mostly different drive train.

What did he expect? lol

Maybe the PM35 uses a similar ECU being the same engine.

Keep trying mate, something may come of it yet.

he also attached this from FAST...can anyone confirm whether this is correct?

Correct, just remember there were a few ECU's for the M35's...

"*RB" VQ25det NM35's.

Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ800

Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ801

Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ802

Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ803

Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ804

Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ806

Also, there were other ECU's that FAST brings up with "ACCS3" under the trim colour column.

Look back over past posts, it would seem that it is an "Automatic Control System"... Cruise control?

Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ810

Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ811

Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ812

Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ813

Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ814

Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ815

And then there are the following ECU's for the "WB" VQ25det Stagea's

Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ860

Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ861

Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ862

Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ863

Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ864

Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ865

"WB" with "ACCS3"

Oct 2001-Jan 2002: 23710-AQ870

Jan 2002-Jul 2002: 23710-AQ871

Jul 2002-Sept 2002: 23710-AQ872

Sept 2002-Jul 2003: 23710-AQ873

Jul 2003-Dec 2003: 23710-AQ874

Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ876

Yep, I'm sure they'll just loooove that list.

(well, they did want to know every ECU part number :rofl2: )

hang on...my car is a 2001/2002 plated car. Why does my Chassis number indicate that I have a Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ806 ECU?

LOL am I driven a rebirthed car?

ahh nevermind saw the "alternate part" bit...phew!

This will go nowhere. I'm sure he "thinks" he can do the re-flash but as we have discovered time and again our cars and ecu's are very different to what they have encountered before and I'm sure they won't want to lay out too much time and money to get it to work for such a small market. Would be nice if they could though! I'm still putting my money on G Zone being the company we use. Or , OR SAS will finally come through! haha NOT!

ive said this before, all the ECUs use the same CPU that appears only used in our car and RX8s. from what ive read, no ones cracked the RX8 ECU either

anyway, the different ECU model numbers probably relate to tune. ive opened up all 3 of my ECUs and they are the same inside.

so been busy with fine tuning etc

lets just say the nm35 ecu harness yes is awsome direct plug in made the job a breeze then just a tune teheheh first run was awsome, as in the first boost around the block the car is a totally dif animal with just the ecu changed

i have a twin turbo AWD manual VQ25DET in my M35. i know its there because i just said so :P

i has one of these too!

f**k i wish i did. lol

It's interesting however, people were shitcanning the guy for asking loads of silly questions (myself included; I'll admit it)

Then when he does EXACTLY what everyone suggested; (do some research) you've still got the boot in.

He's dropped some serious cash on a mod that NO ONE else on the forum has tried; What's your pioneering new development?

If I'd copped the hard time you guys are giving him when I first came to the forum; I wouldn't have come back.

Just because we've been on here for a while, doesn't mean we can't learn something from a newcomer. This kind of attitude was what caused friction with the C34 guys who'd been on here for years before we got here.

This is NOT the way we should be acting towards one another.

im not giving him a hard time.

i said I wish I did..

im actually pretty impressed that he got the f-con working with results(to which im keen on seeing)

i only gave him a hard time when he threatened us with his kickboxing keyboard!

dont be so quick to point the finger Daleo! it hurts my soul

    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
