Brendan, Troy's advice seems pretty good mate and as Steve & Jet said, def go see a decent doctor mate

tangles i think u need to see ur doc asap u need some help doesnt sound like ur in a good way

pete u got the taxi zf tuned yet? mines been done for a wile now and its very nice when u feel like being a bit ruff with it and even when ur not u can get a very nice 1-2 change with chirp

Still haven't been to Martin for the ZF tune....been slack

What are all the differences that you've noticed since the tranny tune.......tighter gear changes I'm guessing.....has it put any extra strain on the driveline and does it jerk you forward on normal driving or does it still change smooth?

Apparently Martin can tune some stall into it as well which will be good for some decent 60ft times......when did Martin do it for you?

FUUUUUUUUUUUU-

... I just keep buying car parts! I don't know what's got into me in the last few weeks, with my car having been off the road for the last 4.5 months. I honestly think I'm losing it!

The current list of parts purchased (here or in transit):

  • nismo 480cc injectors
  • nismo timing belt
  • nismo wheel nuts
  • nismo lmgt4 center-caps
  • nismo solid shifter
  • nismo 300kph cluster
  • HEL Oil cooler w/integrated thermostat
  • Whiteline front & rear swaybars
  • ISC 52mm radiator

On a flip side, at least a lot of stuff I've been holding off for or planning for the last 4.5 years are finally starting to come together .. Now I just need those injectors fitted, the nistune tuned ... oooh .. and then I can start contemplating a high-flow .. arghhh .. it never stops!

um yeh hahahahahaha

i got bruce to do my zf tune and its killer but i was used to my btr 4speed with a built box and 2800r.p.m stall and that shifted hard ....the zf is almost exactly like that i can get decent 1-2 chirpies out of it without touching the shifter all automatic  it wouldnt be everyones cup of tea as the zf 6 speed is a luxury box silky smooth normally and now its a performance box to suit the power i spose now just depends how u like it , i could almost say its harsh in the morning when u may like it a bit more relaxed pinch.gif but iam just a bit precious in da morning :teehee:

stall i still havent heard anything that has been done yet .....iam waiting for it to be done and tested b4 i jump on the bandwagon being the pig sux arse :glare:

WOW, when did you twist that......was it recently and as a direct result of the new ZF tune?

Any word on aftermarket tailshafts out there (carbon fibre maybe)........they are def the weakest point in the driveline

ITS FRIDAY!

I need a new wallpaper for work and I cannot find any decent websites with good resolution images of import/skylines….im after a 1920x1200 res…any ideas?

Could try http://speedhunters.com/media/ some ~1500 images, unfortunately most of them max out out at 1600x1200 pinch.gif

Anyone have any hookups for flash cards? Want to get a couple 32GB SDHC cards, but most places want some serious drug money for them.

Scandy,

Have you tried MSY Computing 32GB SDHC = $49

Thanks for the advice lads, very much appreciated.

Admittedly no Im not in a good way; my mental & physical health has gone out the door.

I'll make an appointment for next week & get in to see a mental health proffessional again. I know its neccessary but been delaying it simply due to costs (sad but true). Whilst Ive got my name on the track-day list I'll probably not be able to afford it, but would like to hold a spot until deposits are due (you never know whats around the corner).

Cheers.

Brendan

it actually happened on the dyno and punctured the fuel tank aswell weeeeeeeee lots of fun there and mind u 1000plus nm is going through it acording to my last willall dyno graph pinch.gif yeh carbon ones are avaliable but touch ur toes for the price at 2k plus, hardy spicer do one at 1200 bucks so its on my list aswell i just got another std one for the time being

Let me know when you're ready for one....might be cheaper for 2? :/

I won't take my car to the drags without one

Remember 1000Nm at the tyre is much, much less at the engine.

Reason? Engine torque is multiplied by the driveline ratio and wheel size to make rear wheel torque that the dyno measures.

The reality is that with 1000Nm the engine, transmission, and driveline would fail very quickly....

oh cummon nuffin like blowing chit up hahaha iam going to try and get hardy spicer on to a off the shelf item if all goes well could see prices drop sub 1 k and thats not to bad me thinks and they warant them to 1000hp usually so that should be a good option

by the sounds of it drags at air in the not so distant future is looking good so testing the abilities of oem gear might be a bit easier pinch.gif

cheers for the info martin ......................any calc to work out exact engine torque then?................1000+ nm at the wheels is still ok i woulda thought

Researching & finding that fentanyl withdrawal is as bad as it gets. Last two weeks have been pretty awful. I've found that most metabolisms use up the slow release drug over a 48hr period, I've been replacing the patches after 72+hrs since I've been on it for the last 40odd months. Realistically I've been going through withdrawal every 3rd & 4th days in that time. Side effects are lengthy. Just going from 25mu to 12micrograms/hr has been extremely hard but I'm determined to get off this nasty stuff asap. Fentanyl is over 80times stronger than morphine. Do not recommend.

If you were to put one in your mouth you'd overdose within minutes, just saying. Pretty much a bit of research today has explained to me why ive felt the way I have the past 3yrs. Depression, anxiousness, insomnia, crawling out of your skin, irritable, irrationality ..... plenty of undesirable side effects. Its going to take me months to feel on top of things again, but damn, I'm determined. I'm going to get better, get strong again, and be a success.

just use care mate, a lot of people get some extremely severe side effects to the point of no return(cant take anymore), just remember this bunch of people on SAU are here for you to chat anytime ? life gets better off those crappy meds. you know your body , and doctors arent' always right either , on a side note from before, you can see your physch doctor "no cost i think in most cases" with a gp refferal around 12 sessions a year on medicare. ask about the mental health act

just keep positive mate. no matter how hard it is to kick the patch.... talk anytime

on a side note , i think we need some of these for the next out of town car show... lol

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
