I hear they are almost 2000rpm laggier than -5s?

Dyno sheet?

it doesnt drop off boost at the end, the cooler piping pops off.. not sure what the -5s do but im sure its not 2000 rpm slower there pretty much on full boost at 5600

full boost around 5900, with cam gears, was the poncams dialled in as well, still laggy for the street imho

Going off the graph its 6000rpm.

That's worse than GTRS which are what, 150-200 more?

Can tell you now if its not 2000rpm, its not much less for -5s

Hi , Signed up an account to replay to this thread :D

I have an R33 GTR with these turbos and have had them running for aorund 8000klm now .

a couple of things to know :-

mine had to be run in for about 1-1500klm because of the bearing type

Use a thinner oil for the engine , i use 10w30 redline - many use alot thicker oil and this will make a big difference to turbo lag with drag on the bearings.

Use the factory manifolds unless you have other mods which need otherwise. The manifold to turbo flange is smaller on the factory units increasing gas veocity into the exhaust side of the turbos making them spool at lower rpm . The expreme setup has a larger opening which breaths better at higher rpm but reduces exhaust gas velocity at lower rpm- this makes a big difference with spool up at low rpm.

Use poncam b's , they increase duration of the opening of the exhaust valve by 5 degrees NOT lift - they are easy to install and increase exhaust gas pressure making a noticable difference. you dont need adjustable gears for this - they are pegged for stock cam gears . Adjustable gears are not really required for mild tuning like this.

Mine start to spool at 3200 rpm , have fully spooled up to 1bar at 4000 rpm and keep this steady until redline.

Im upgrading my fuel system and plenum this winter along with arp head studs and a cosworth head gasket so hoping for 1.2 bar next year reliably :)

Once everything is finished ill get a dyno sheet and post it up !

7655 sounds a lot like garret gt2876

Going to jump on the computer in a min. Will confirm wheel sizes then

edit - 68mm comp exducer 6/6 blade wheel and 56mm turbine wheel with 12 blades

and according to tomei still journal bearing

So to me and my quick look around, they are a TD05-20G in custom housings

I've decided to pull mine off and change to a single turbo set up! They are advertised in the for sale section if anyone is interested,

I never turned them up, on 12psi they started making boost at 3200rpm & were agressive once on 12psi at 4000rpm.

and surprise surprise, the ARMS8260's look to be a TD06H turbine wheel with possibly a Garrett GT 76.2mm comp wheel (its isnt a 25G wheel as they are 78mm)

You clever bugger, you seem to be right about them using MHI parts. So all they have done for these turbos is add custom housings and mix/match MHI/Garrett parts.

A forum member on Club high rollers EZYWIN has the above turbo's his doing back to back testing from -5 this week according to his forum update. Pretty sure it made 530awhp on E85 -5 tuned by godzilla motorsports.. Lets hope for something a little more impressive than the smaller tomei turbo's. :domokun:

Have you had 50 or 60 in it? How much effect was it having?

I certainly wouldn't be going that thin (on hot) with a RB26. Least of all just to help crud turbo's spool.

Update from CHR:

First things first. Thankyou to GODZILLA MOTORSPORT, Mark and Darren for there on going passion to my car and the overtime they have spent on EZYWIN. Well those Tomie turbo's Kick Arse and make power. First Dyno Run 530hp @ 17psi at all 4's, that power equals the power i had with the garrett -5's set up with 24 psi. So we made just over 600 at 25 psi. Happy figure at 595 @ 24 psi. So there is a little down side LAG 5000 rpm then Hello. Went for my first drive today and oooo mummaaa powerplay and willowbank here i come. Tomie quality a big yes.

    • Hi, i’m making a rb25det coil loom for Vag short coil. Can anybody tell me which Ecu signal wire belong to coil number 1 and 2,3,4,5,6? The connecting switch in above pic is 8 wire i think white is for +12v and black for earth.
    • Was there ever a model of the Stagea m35 that didnt have a badge on the grill? I thought I saw that somewhere, some aero edition or something? I cant find it again? davemoto
    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
