apparenty the largest bolt on injectors you can put into them are 550cc from nismo...but im really unsure about this.

also, the turbo sux ass. it might spool up quick, but as soon as you run higher boost through it, it starts to whinge - you might even lose your exhaust wheel to your catalytic convertor.

the other gripe i have is the stupid climate control display, in sunlight you cant see a friggin thing because of the glare! but i think this is a generic skyline problem...

I thought they all look the same ? Actually this leads to another question.. eheh  Is there more info on the diff between series 1 and 2? I wasnt even aware of there is a series two of the R34 GTT. :)

As to the front bar.. I have an after market bodykit and it dont look too bad. :)

franks:

Interesting about the injectors.. will keep that in mind.. The stock turbo seems ok for me, as I'm sorta running standard boost atm :)

I agree with the climate control annoyance.. but guess I can live with it :)

What kind of higher boost are you talking about Franks? Have you blown one? I haven't gone to higher boost yet but I'm not far from it.

Weird about the injectors. I would have thought that would be the same as the older RB25's. 550 would be ok with a not too crazy turbo upgrade though wouldn't it? (2535?)

Anyone know about the limits of the fuel pump?

wouldnt be worthwhile putting a GTR turbo on as they have a T2 flange and the RB25 needs a T3 flange (it could be the other way around) - so an adaptor plate needs to be made up.

best upgrade for the RB25 in regards to a bolt-on turbo, with an internal wastegate, would be HKS 2530, 2535 or 2540.

abo bob, are you coming to dinner tonite?

higher boost, 0.8bar and daily driven? im starting to find that the turbo won't even hold 0.9bar!!!

0.8bar with regular squirts and the turbo starts to whine like it has a leeking gasket somewhere. i almost think its the compressor or exhaust blade touching the housing :spank::) :)

as for fuel pump, im on 200rwkw using stock fuel pump and injectors and i havent even maxed my injectors yet (according to powerfc). i'll be close though if i can run 1.0bar...

Interesting. I've been hanging to check out your car man and I'll be there tonight. Also I think you might have something to say about mine when you hear it. I've had a whine (we'll find out tonight if it's the same one as yours) since I got the car.

Boost is stock and holds it fine. Car goes good but the guy I bought it off says the sound it makes is not normal and is curious to check it out at the next service.

my car looks like a piece of shit at the moment :spank: nothing to write home to mum about thats for sure!!! sideskirts and rear pods are off, but, they'll be back on this saturday - should scrub up a little better :)

my turbo doesnt start whining until it hits 0.8 or so bar repeatedly :Paranoid: under normal driving conditions its fine...if yours is whining continuously on stock boost, then i suspect a dying turbo - good excuse to upgrade :)

Hello all,

Just like to have an idea on some weaknesses (if there is any) on skyline R34 GTTs ?  Other than the weight factor of course. :(

Only ONE turbo, only TWO wheel drive, doesn't have SIX throttle bodies :devfu:

Sorry - felt like a bit of stirring today. I actually thought long and hard a year or so ago about whether to by an R34GTT or R32 GTR. The GTT is still a great car with plenty of potential.

Whew.... so far looks like I dont have a hard job later on in fixing up any weaknesses :( Thank you all for the valuable information. :)

BTW.. If memory did not fail me.. there was a skyline in the current special edition of HPI that has a r34 GTT engine in it and it was using 700cc injectors.. :)

the only weakness in any skyline is the clown in the drivers seat that insists on making it faster, sexier, louder, etc!!! oh and the plastic exhaust impeller that likes to turn into powder when given curry at higher boost settings!! and the fact that the rear tyres wear quickly..... Oops, no thats the driver again!

    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
    • Yes then it will turn on but I want the car features to work
    • My thought is if you were just moving it forward and the upstream geometry remained the same, then no difference at all. But because the current one has the filter direct into the AFM inlet, you effectively have the best chance of a completely symmetric air flow profile upstream, and in, the AFM, whilst the aftermarket inlet thingo has a (small, to be sure) bend between the filter and the AFM. That would bias the flow to the outside of the bend (downstream of the bend) which might well reduce the size of the signal seen by the AFM, for the same total flow rate. Having said that: If you're proposing to make your inlet look like a hybrid of your existing one and the aftermarket one, such that there is no bend where the filter is clamped on... then I say it will be just fine. If there is going to be such a bend, then, if you can align the insertion of the AFM blade such that it is at right angles to the plane of the bend, then there is a better than even chance that the centreline velocity where the blade is will remain more or less the same, and the velocity will just be a little faster to the outside of that, and just a little slower to the inside. **This is not professional investment advice and you should consult a suitably qualified ouija board, tea leaves or the intestines of a goat for more accurate prognostication.
    • Hi Tao, Thanks for your reply.  It's been a while and I managed to get the valve stem seals replaced with the head on the car.  Unfortunately this didn't solve my issue, the car still smokes a lot after idling (to be honest during idle you can see a bit of blue smoke from the exhaust), same after deceleration. I will try disconnecting the valve cover breathers, do I leave the PCV valve in? By engine oil drain pipe, do you mean the turbo oil drain?
    • What about if you just give it direct 12v and earth?
