Xtreme Motorsports' lease is being terminated...

yet the company is still trading; for how long I don't yet know.

No sign of closing or relocation in this; http://www.xtrememotorsports.com.au/

2)

Powerplay Imports Sydney

Shopfront is displaying "For Lease"

Google "powerplayimports sydney" and then click on "Is this accurate?" > a box will appear "Report a problem" with 5 options

So I'd settle affairs with either of the above right now, before it's too late.

I don't know about #1 on that list, but #2, Powerplay Imports have stopped trading some months ago. Anyone who was owed money (and it seems many were) is probably out of luck there.

yeah very curious about Powerplay, they were quite supportive of the scene and even brought a Z-tune GTR over once.

used them a couple of times, nice lady manning the desk but impossible to get on the phone usually, kinda not surprised that ended up where they have.

This is the second time you mention something inaccurate about Extreme motorsports, And no they are not closing down, moving and no their lease is not up.

So the Baptist Church is lying? Well-well, wonders never cease!

Charlie, right or wrong it's always a good idea to give people a good heads up about these kind of things. A simple observation can go a long way for current customers investing their time and hard earned money.

Joanne always knew how to charge for her parts and it was rare to see the shop change much each time you went in there.

I am surprised that any shop in Sydney that doesnt have a huge customer base of drag racers or circuits racers is still around.

LOL... Again we get hammered with nonsense and false bullshit. :rofl2:

We are not getting our lease terminated but I will advise publicly since we have just signed the documents that we have just purchased the property that we are currently located in and the property next door as well. So we will be located at 428 and 430 Parramatta Road. Burwood. Also we will have a big open day once we have settled in.

 and EVERYONE IS WELCOME to come down. We will advise everyone soon.

The baptist church owns the massive yard 2 doors up and I am pretty sure thats number 424 and thats between Ginza and us. Thats one big place and I wish they would have sold that to us.

They actually use it as staff car park every now and again.

Many thanks for complete clarification Joe and to quash misinformation received at my end through a Baptist church of all things!

Sorry for any inconvenience caused as it's good to see high quality cars continuing to come out of dealerships who are willing to take the risk of filling a niche that large commercial operations won't venture into.

We look forward to Matthew Everingham's work at your site too!

You've had lots dealings with them Paul and much more recent than I. I trust your judgement and feedback. It'll be good if they're just relocating. Otherwise, it's a darn waste of a brilliant technician like Alistair!

Powerplay are just closing down their retail shop. They will still have the back garage. Jo still should be taking email enquiries.

+1 (after finally getting a call back from Jo).

They are renovating however, so if you need something urgently... be patient I guess. :/

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
