G'day Guys,

Mate of mine is looking for a company car, he reckons he will have about 25-30k mark. Doesnt mind second hand within reason.

He is however against falcons and commies. Likes his BMW's and what not. Doesnt want a hatch either.

I have tried to steer him away from second hand BMW's with near 100,000kms due to the after expenses (he works for his parents so we dont want to screw them around).

He likes the Cruze, any one have thoughts and opinions about them?

Recommendations?

Cheers,

I have driven a Cruze before.

Decent car for getting from A to B.

Comfy, good on fuel and has quite a bit of room.

Tell him, it's no performance car, kinda sluggish even if you plant your foot down, but it's a daily so it should be fine.

I would assume any car from a Nissan Maxima / Toyota Camry / Honda Accord / Mazda 6 / Subaru Liberty, 4 door sedans would suite him just fine as well.

With full BMW service history...

and within $30K...

E39 530i or 535i

E46 328Ci or 328i

I've had both of the underlined above without problems at all. Weakness is mainly sidetanks or some other water issue.

Since your friend is in NSW, use BMV Engineering (Caringbah) to scrutinise any potential beemers. Massimo knows his stuff and charges much less than a dealership.

On the north shore (Artarmon), see George at BMWise

LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
