It's a massive shame to come on the forums afterwards and see it as a usual thing for the competition to be 'rigged' and the stigma that goes with it. The fact that it is acknowledged as an every year occurance means that only few new people are attending, because if there were more then the political agenda would be lessened. I would have thought more new people would be a benefit?

I posted that the competition was 'rigged'....but I wasn't being serious lol.

I enjoyed the day even though I didn't win anything (not even a fuel voucher haha).

Haha, you ain't seen no chapter writing yet. I'll take his chapter and raise him two :P

This is correct although it doesn't justify accepting the other extreme. I understand people vote for their friends cars and that's cool - it's what you do for a mate. Except if people are standing in a circle discussing and deciding who is going to win (like you said you were) then every year it will be a similar result and every year the people who are not in this group will have a useless vote as they are not the majority.

I did not say it should be more about trophies, only less political. Same topic but very different things. If the competition isn't fair then why bother having one? You'd do just as well parking the cars there all day only to look at, it wouldn't make a difference. And trust me, I definitely did not go for the cars. Actually I only went because of my girlfriend, the event conveniently tied in with what we were doing that day. All I'm saying is that it can be better without hurting what's already there.

For sure, people promote anything and everything naturally when they socialise, but it's not our duty and certainly not our responsibility to promote it positively, therefore negative promotion can also occur. Also what is the use of promoting when the attendees at these events are all mates? Obviously the majority of promoting won't get very far, it will just circulate through the already aware. It's not hard to expand the horizons which would create more numbers.

Please understand Birds, I'm only going through this because I want the best for the club, that is all.

fkn lol i didnt read any of this. but i think its time you and birds went for a coffee and read your books to eachother.

When was the last time I posted a tl;dr fag? That was two or three paragraphs...I'm assuming you didn't go to primary school if you had trouble getting through it in less than 20 seconds...

"NYAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Rofl.

what kills it is being forced to stay there for like 8 hours or whatever it is, never attended never would cos frankly i got better things to do with my time 2-3 hours sure can justify that be beyond that its really pushing it for me

By 8hrs you mean 6 yea?

Of those 6, almost 1hr of that would be moving in/out etc.

im still reading your last one that you posted a month ago bro, thats how long it was.

and if I didnt go to primary school that must mean you didnt even pass kinder!

how you like ma dick now.

You kids need to be less complaining.

Everyone loves to whine after an event, but I see NO members EVER volunteering your time, thoughts or ideas.

So as a result, you get what you are given. If you don't like it - put down your keyboard and run for Committee to take the club into what you believe the direction should be.

and your mums hot

SAU Vic has dwindled down allot since the first days/years of the forum. There were no "club membership" back then, rocking up to cruises or SnS with 50-100 cars at once... Hey days mang..

Given i used to organise a lot of them before SAU-Vic came about

I can confidently say you are full of shit.

There were never 50-100 car cruises unless combined with other clubs etc.

you may lose faith in us but... never in your self. From here, the fight will be your own

Don't be a smarty pants behind keyboard Ash...

How come we've never met before eh? I bought my first R33 gtst the date i joined up in this forum and have attended fair amount of cruises and GOR trips.

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
