Nah just doing something for my parents... Was supposed to be a straight forward job, but whoever wired the joint up 25 years ago was a f**king mong, so it turned into a kunt of a job and took way longer than it would have...Got it done in the end though, and at least future jobs should be easier so it was good to start with a bad/hard one in a way..

Definitely not enough room to stand/walk or even crouch...Was crawling around on my stomach trying to stay on the joists...Almost went through the plaster lol

Good fun sabre sawing lying across a few joists, holding myself up with one foot hooking onto a rafter at full stretch lol

Gotta do the same thing in the other bathroom still, just hoping they didn't take the retard route when wiring that one up like the one I did today lol

lol sounds familiar, resting your stomach/knees on the joists isn't very comfy

hate that filthy/dusty insulation they used in older houses

just make sure you're not sore from training the day before otherwise it'll be 10 times more of a mission lol

my foot's gone through plaster couple times got lucky both times it was on top of bulkheads...

we usually try to avoid working on old houses unless it's really worth doing ($$$) or it's for a relative/friend etc

Yeah f**k doing this job if it wasn't for my parents or big $. I don't mind coz I'm getting some domestic experience which I can't get at work, so I'll do any domestic work I can...

Left forearm is f**ked like I ran it along a cheese grater...f**kin sabre saw was shaking the f**k out of me because of the position I had to be in to make the cut, and being hardwood I was cutting for a fkin long time...

And yeah that old insulation is f**ked, would be a lot easier if it was the new shit (which was on top of the old shit lol) as you can just move it around easily..

Definitely need some knee pads for the next one though

haha moving tools with you up there makes it more fun...

careful when lifting your head up alot of houses old or new have nails/screws sticking out of the trusses. dude that used to work with us had half a nail go through his head once. i almost had my fkn eye taken out too

new insulation itchy shit but yea least you can move it

ah yeah, didn't even think of that but did smack my head on a truss lol

Pulled a muscle in my neck/trap on Friday at gym, so was thinking it's gonna be even more of a bitch maneuvering around up there, but I think it loosened it up lol

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
