I have a feeling mine might be 1ohm stable....

Will need to check, I used to be into car audio a few years go but not anymore. I can't even remember the model of the amp :/

At the moment its 1200wrms @ 2ohm for my sub

Yeah I vaguely remember asking you before. Yeah I think yours was 2ohm. Didn't want to pop your amp with my subs haha

I believe you get a lot better sound per dollar value in spending on setup than speaker models.

Put in the research and time and your average speaker models could sound as good as your higher end models if their setup is done poorly.

I've recently built a decware deathbox II enclosure. Haven't tested it yet though. However it's all wired up.

Anyone have a 1ohm stable amp for me to test?

yeh but see an audio engineers thought process is; "If I can make 'meh' speakers sound like top end speakers, then imagine what I can make topend speakers sound like"

also comes down to the whole not settling for something... i'de rather spend the money and not have a headache..

you'll find the best audio systems are the ones that are LOUD AS FAAARRK but you can still have a conversation with someone...

its just like modifying, once you start you really cannot stop

this was the setup in my supra.. i loved it

Haha that's an epic setup. Do want!

How much that set you back?

Dude I don't want to remember how much I spent on that, had the top line mb quart(when they were actually German and not Chinese) I remember the front splits cost me $1500 lol

Subs I went 10" as I preferred the punchy bass not fully sick Hektik droan bass lol

Just did a quick search on MEA I think it might handle 1ohm not 100% sure though lol

Its a Boston Acoustics GT-28. I remember getting it from the States a while back because down here i think it was $1k plus.

Also went with a Class AB? amp as many of the audiophilists said it had better sub control over a Class D monoblock

It's all over my head now, don't remember anything :/

Sounds like one of those cars where the audio gear is worth more than the car :P

Lol

I'm liking it even more than when I first started looking at the CBR... One of the better looking fronts in it's class imo

Not big on the grey mid fairing, need to decide whether I'll spray it black or red...Also want to black out a lot of the silver (heatshield, sub frame etc) but no rush there....First mods will be exhaust, fender elim, integrated tail light and smaller indicators, as well as a black screen from Charles...Also got some rim tape on the way, but that'll be it for now

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
