Fuck I hate the TMU. How much fucking garbage do they need to spit out before they get called up on it? It's not as if people turn foglights on for fun. We gonna get fined for having airbags next...

Worst part is you having to take your own time out to contest it, they get to issue this bullshit in their job. People should be able to recoup time and money spent contesting fines, maybe then it wouldn't be such a positive revenue source if they started losing money from the wrongful issuing of fines. Also willing to bet if you were 40 years old they wouldn't have touched you...

sure was, apparently they didn't have anything better to do than fine me for fog lights $141.. should I be writing a letter? considering they just turn on with my normal lights..

Thats bullshit mate!! Id give it a go and write a letter if thats the case, they've been driving with foggies on all night.

We were right behind you in a white gti golf, they came flying behind us and around to get to you. We did about 4 u turns and drive by's to see if that was your car lol. Very very sad, they have been on a tear since around 10pm we've been around oakleigh area.

yeah ill definitely try and write a letter to get out of it.. it's a f**king joke really stock standard lights and turn on when I flick my lights on..

didn't see the white golf, I had no idea where they came from. I bet his mother is proud, you know serving and protecting and all, I bet she'd laugh if only she really knew what he does.

That's just another level of douchebaggery that they speed in traffic to issue a fine for fog lights...like the cocksucker who went through red lights to pull me over for a random inspection.

Hope you learnt your lesson Leigh - don't buy a new car and drive it.

They always hide in the bottle shop drive thru or around that pub just after the bp servo. Sneaky bastards but yeh he had his eye on you for some reason and went hard to get you.

It's farked mate!

he must of been admiring my ride and wanted a closer look or something? :P, maybe he just mad he's middle aged and issuing fog light fines to young kids on a saturday morning for a living

10 min earlier there was one tmu that must have been doing at least 180 flew past us to get to a hilux. Scared the shit out of us, just came out of no where. Couldn't see where they came from, no flashing lights. If we were or anyone was to change lanes it would have ended real bad. But then again they're all trained to drive like that.

Yeah for every Skyline gear change, EVO is doing about 1.5 gear changes. Such a nice gearbox though, punching 1st to 3rd so seamless

lol sure is, i was keeping up with some of the higher powered cars at soundown through the straights even. they were mind boggled, i would let them pass and then take off behind them.. haha in most cases i had to slow down because they simply just couldnt get going fast enough lol

Last night I went for dinner + hobbit at Knox with friends... Parked it up the back in Alcatraz (the huge fenced off carpark) and as I'm walking back towards the cinemas I see the Yellow Knox Police TMU, with a certain older gentleman behind the wheel, slowly cruising around keeping at eye on the PARKED cars.

Is he a parking inspector now?

Edit: it's still a little bit race mode from sandown, hand controller on dash, extremely high flow catalytic converter, etc... Massive relief when I returned to find nothing on the car :P

Hate to rain on the parade but he is right to fine you by letter of the law fog lamps are only meant to be used in the relevant conditions - fog. Writing a letter will achieve nothing since you can switch them off but didn't.

Yeh it's gay brah and its bs but you'll find the cops well within his rights. Shame they aren't consistent with it and book every other commo towing an invisible caravan fog lighting the moon

He would have been putting number plates in his computer to check for unregistered cars...they do it there all the time. Have had mates get the $600 fine for it.

Shouldv'e asked him to join you and friends for dinner and movie. I'm sure you and your friends will have delightful time listening to his stories of recent events.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
