Dude's still nuts representing himself IMO...gets a judge with a chip on his block about people representing themselves and he cops $50k in legal bills, say goodbye to your 7 cars, not just 3. And the amount of work he would have put in to put forward a case...system is set up to deter people like him. Gamble paid off though. Hopefully he's set a bit of a precedent for others to cite.

my gyme is 1-7, if that helps :P

i'm starting to look at bikes again, omg! i think my dad (who used to ride, mind you) would chuck a hissy fit. do not want to get kicked out... however do want bike...

would any of you brahs have a bike only - no car?

Nah would never have bike only it's just not practical and takes away the 'fun factor' I reckon riding in peak hour is pretty shitty / dangerous too.

My dad bitched for a while, then I just rocked up one day with a bike not much he could say after I already bought it, he used to ride road bikes as well so bit of a hypocrite

I wouldn't mind getting 3 bikes:

Sports for super fast times, motard for lols and wheelies, dirt for jumping / bush etc :D

well *if* i were to get a bike soon, it'd only be for a bit less than a year tbh, because then it'd be evo time! :D

riding in peak is one of the advantages of bikes though, surely. but then again, i've seen what some drivers do in peak... :/

haha same with my dad, but his excuse a bit more valid in that "that's all they could afford" back then in SL... haha. but strong consideration to just do it and rock up and be like "k... what of it" :P

what you mean legal...

you are this guy yeah?

operation_repo_froy_tercero_zps8c677ec9.

Legal loss recoveries.

I deal directly with our in house lawyer and help with claims as well as just remarket cars lol

The amount of work the lawyer herself does is fkn ridiculous.. Did a day course at Leo cussins or whatever it's called and wanted to kneck myself after.

Don't know how ric does it

only watching ouji out of those. seen accel world though, i liked it. assume you've seen SAO then?

haha yeah pretty tempted to watch the source material instead of waiting weekly for shingeki.

"The council said the vehicles were taking up a majority of the property's open space and therefore, the land should be declared a store, as opposed to a residential dwelling.

But for it to be a lawful store, Mr Hoe would need a permit, which could only be granted if he did not live at the site and the cars were kept in a building."

hyakka and nyaruko is really full on mindless fun. i'm currently reading SAO. lol translated of course.

lol dad had one too back in SL. Mum has a hand sized burn scar on her calf from the zorst when he dropped it on her when they were first seeing each other

Yeah I used to drop documents to lawyers In city offices all the time Aaron....they would be sitting in a room literally surrounded by piles of documents they had to read through...needle in a haystack type shit...craziness

Hasn't market value gone up on The 86..

does that mean if you bought it for 30k or whatever they are and insured it for market value you could actually profit ?

that's assuming its a write off, and not a repaired car that can't be sold.

Looked like new bonnet, new windscreen, new bar, new headlights, new foglights, new reo, new bar reinforcement, may have pierced condenser and radiator just depends how far it pushed back and would only be able to tell looking with bonnet up, also hard to tell if airbag went off but I would be assuming it did. Add it all up with new parts/labour etc chance it could be written off

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
