I wonder how much labor voters know about the labor party, I mean they haven't returned a surplus since 89! Some people who voted for them wouldn't have been alive the last time they achieved it!

Firstly... I'm a swinging voter and have voted ALP, LNP, GRN and even cock'n'balls in the past depending on the political landscape at the time, so don't read into this as though I'm some sore losing labour supporter.

Kevin Rudd is shit, we all know that. ALP f**ked themselves here, we all know that too. However, Tony Abbott is a complete douchelord and has ZERO idea how to run a country.

Unbeknownst to one eyed LNP voters there is actually more to running a country than obtaining a budget surplus, sure it's a huge part of it, but HOW you get to that surplus is actually MORE important.

I'll illustrate my point with a quick story:

As you know I was recently in hospital for 2 weeks with a serious and potentially deadly condition. (meningoenchephilitis)

I went to emergency when it started, and after waiting for 6 hours I was sent home as there just isn't the space.

I went back to emergency a few days later as my symptoms were getting worse. I told them I had meningitis and they refused to believe me and couldn't give me a neurologist consult due to staffing, so once again I was sent home.

That night I lost movement in half my body and called 000 stating I thought I was having a stroke. It took 16 minutes for an ambulance to arrive! (and i live maybe 4 minutes from sandringham hospital.) if it WAS a stroke I would either be dead or a vegetable by now.

Once we arrived at the hospital there were no beds so I had to wait in the triage doorway, by my self, for another 10 odd minutes.

Once I finally got a bed there was no doctor to see me, just 1 nurse who really didn't understand what was going on. by this stage I could not tell her what day, month or even year it was. About 4 hours later, still with no neurologist consult I eventually lost the ability to speak and a doctor finally (not a neurologist) saw me. He ordered a neuro consult but this was like 2 hours away.

Eventually I was literally screaming in pain so the doctor just palmed me off with IV drugs (Tramadol and morphine) as he didn't have time to treat me. This didn't help the cause of the problem at all and eventually I had a full seizure. At this point Merowyn ran up to her work (she works as a Neurology Nurse in the private section of the hospital) and literally begged for assistance. The head of neurosurgery was contacted (at home) and he made the call to the emergency department and ordered that I be seen immediately.

A neurologist comes in, is shocked at how bad I am and does a Lumbar Puncture on the spot, this releases the pressure in my spine/brain and he then orders that I be admitted.

I transfer myself to the private section (to merowyn's floor) and the rest of the story is hence unrelated

so in summation i go to emergency and am sent home twice due to lack of beds

ambulance takes 16 minutes to reach me

I wait outside hospital for somone to be discharged due to lack of beds

I am not seen by a doctor for like 4 hours due to lack of staffing

I am not seen by a neurologist for around 5 hours. due to lack of staffing and even then he had to stop treating someone else to see me

see where this is going?

The system is in DESPERATE need of funding.

It's f**ked as it is already under Rudd/Gillard/Howard but that retarded clown Abbott wants to REMOVE funding from healthcare.

You see, what people don't realise is that they think "it's OK i'm RICH and I have private health." that's great so do I but guess what, if it's a heart attack / stroke, you dont have a private ambulance that will get to you in 2 minutes. and you will 99% likely end up in the public system first, where response time is critical.

Tony Abbott knows this, he just doesn't care

what he does care about for some reason is ensuring women earning $100k + don't lose a single dollar from their usual wage when they have a baby.

These are his priorities for god's sake, how can ANYONE vote for this shit?

Remove even more money from healthcare and schools (as the LNP both state and federal do EVERY time) and give money to well of women that don't even need it. I'd rather be in a deficit.

The whole LNP campaign was just a rip off of the US Republican model and no one noticed, and to top it all off we are now represented on the world stage by a complete moron that lives in the 50's, it's an embarrassment.

I truly someone is fanatical enough to assassinate him and Turnball steps up.

Vote 1, Hamish Palmer

I still cant get over how healthcare was just buried for this election. The hospital bed issue is farked up, I cant believe you were left in such a state. My sister is a nurse and is rarely given shifts and my grandma was in an ambo a few weeks ago and rejected by 3 hospitals.

PS is the giant ferriswheel finished? if they told people the ferriswheel was going to be delayed to fund something else, im sure no one would kick up a fuss

Spot on Hamish. I literally can't understand how anyone (let alone a majority) voted for.

Using just my facebook as an example, I've seen maybe 2 people post that they voted for/are happy Liberal won. One of them is an asian chick who is literally the most materialistic person I know, whose name I won't mention as people on here probably know of her. Her constant posts/photos telling the world how rich and 'classy' she is make me sick to the point that I deleted her.

My only hope is that these people get f**ked over in Abbott's term as well.

Abbots term will f**k everyone anally. Especially the tradies and defense force ambos nurses docs etc.

But I'm not surprised abbot won considering the face of labour was a dipshit. And people will never really understand that it's a vote for the party and not the person.

Well I've always been an advocate of spending on hospital and schools before shit like bids to host the world cup or hosting the formula 1 every year, giving financial aid to other countries (help them because they are dying; what about us?!)...or large scale unnecessary projects (which Labor are the kings of). My question is, do you think it would have been any better had Labor retained government? They would make cuts too, someone has to eventually, because you can't just keep borrowing money. If you think the hospital system is bad now, wait until your children have to use it to pay back a much larger bill.

What is really needed is a minor party with a keen interest in health and education, to push to the major parties that these are important issues for people and we don't want to see big white elephant projects that make government look good on the world stage, we want to be looked after in our own backyards first.

Abbots term will f**k everyone anally. Especially the tradies and defense force ambos nurses docs etc.

But that's also the same reason Labor got any decent number of votes too.

Say what you like about Rudd, I believe he was the only thing Labor actually had going for it. If Gillard was still in, it would have been a landslide for Liberal. The whole party is a monumental fk up that needs to sort out itself...they are a party divided who can't stop stabbing each other in the back. Their only saving grace was that Rudd is a good talker and appeals to the younger generation.

I don't think labour would have fixed it in a term, hell no.

I think it would remain stable and possibly slowly improve over a few terms.

The annoying this is while liberal clean up labours mess, labour have to then come in and clean up the liberals mess.

How many times have the libs "fixed" things with privatisation for example. Gets a surplus, which we then have to pay for with elec bills and so on. So then labour have to fix that problem.

Chicken / egg

When are we visiting hipster Hamish?

Don't start me on utility bills...mine have gone up ridiculous amounts since Labor have been in power. More than when the GST was brought in. Dat carbon tax run off!

    • Given you're running a 2.8 and my 2.5 is not really like for like, I suspect there could be a bit more timing you could give it. What is the kW yield per degree you're putting through it? Here's my E85 map to give you an idea, where it was I could still get another 3~4kW per degree thrown at it.
    • It turns out that Setrab make a fan specifically for the oil cooler which is great and I've installed it with minimal swearing. I removed my 2x 12in push fans from the front of my aircon condenser and wired them into this. My main thermo fans kick on when I use the aircon anyway and would effectively already be working as puller fans through the condensor which is infront of the rad. The push fans (understandably) didn't really do much in the config they were previously in so now they're out. Now we're on to the "Oil fan doesn't really do much either!". Yes I'll duct it next if it does nothing in heavy use which it shouldn't. But hey, the object exists and fits great and is cool. Let me have this. The car is still in the "do my fittings leak oil now? do my wheels actually rub?" phase. I did a spirited drive on them and didn't hear or feel anything. Then I got back home and noticed there were grind marks on the inside of the rims, though I couldn't see where they were touching I got out the grinder and attacked the suspects. Note: I do not know how to use a grinder. Then I realised I had dragged my new rims across my concrete driveway before I did this drive. I didn't think I had damage at that time when I briefly looked...... but remembered this occurred after I did all the angle grinding. The grinding on the wheels in some very specific spots. It's not around the whole rim for example, which lines up with dragging it across concrete more than hitting a suspension component for even 1 full rotation. So everything is currently painted and taped up and I need to test it some more to see if it really IS rubbing, but from inside the car it doesn't feel like it is. In other news I attempted to do a before and after comparison of the heads/cam upgrade thing. Dynos lie, everything is in different measurements. Here is the data from the sandown back straight. Car go faster than before. Vroom vroom.
    • Here's my base ignition. +3 correction to redline when shooting water/meth which is always on. Looking at my old ignition table, I should be able to add 1-2 degree's next time I'm on the dyno.  Let me know your thoughts.
    • Given what I know now - same haha, but this was 12 years ago with second hand 740cc Nismo injectors in my S15 daily, I was too busy hunting elsewhere for the issue to even look at the injectors, running through some cleaner was a happy coincidence haha
    • Not a terrible idea. But if I ever had concerns that my injectors were sufficiently dirty to be causing me a problem, they would be out of the engine and onto the actual injector cleaner/testing bench.
