No Sorry, if it was about e-penis size it would be "Check out my RWKW figure Biatches"

As per my first post, there are so many overpriced cars out there that sit on the market for months sometimes..... years.

I'm one for if your going to sell it, sell it in the first month and move on.

cheers

i think this is pretty spot on. whenever i've sold a car, i've tried to be more on the "realistic" side when making the asking price. at the end of the day, nothing is worth anything but what someone wants to pay for it. many sellers place an asking price based on "what it's worth to them". this is often very different to what it is worth to a potential buyer.

yeah i see far too many cars advertised for many many months (and sometimes into the years) before they either sell (at a lower, more realistic price) or the owner just keeps it.

its a bit like selling a house. you really need it to hit the market at a realistic price or it will soon go cold and the interest in it dies down dramatically and it goes nowhere.

i paid $8000 for my 1991 r32 gts-t coupe (rb25det + big rb25 gbox) without even seeing the car in the flesh or having it checked out mechanically. rookie mistake.

4 years and about $25k later in parts/mods/servicing and i would only expect around $7k for it.. new zealand dollars this is.

I paid $10k for http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/364173-fs-1999-c34-nissan-stagea-rs4-s-factory-manual-power-fc/page__p__5811591__hl__xrhettx__fromsearch__1#entry5811591 in June or July (I've forgotten).

A shit load of car but that's the kinda money they are going for.

I had a pretty neat 33 GTST with a tiny amount of damage to the front right, and I mean tiny. It also went with a heap of spares. I had it up for $3.5k and would have taken $3k. I ended up swapping it for a mint 2000 R1.

Cars are worthless. But most people already knew that.

The money you spend on the purchase price can sometimes reflect the money you spend on the maintenance price. But just wondering for the guys that have owned their cars for awhile now how often do you sit there and think "I only paid [insert dollar amount here] for this car"? I personally am thinking more along the lines of "What can I buy next for the car" but I have owned my 93 R32 GTS-T for almost 5 years now and in keeping with this thread the dealership wanted 16k for the car but I got it for 11k just because I told them I would fix paint on the front bar and some of the interior myself.

If I could do it all again I would more then likely be speaking to Iron Chef about getting me a car from Japan because at the end of the day to buy a car locally at the same spec of some of the nicer imported ones you will be looking at the same costs anyway, But then again I would love to see you find a local car with a full log book as well.

Want to see my log book?

Wow... I can't even read that. So I'm guessing you got a good deal while you were skipping English classes? Or did you get ripped off? It's hard to tell...

Yeah har har.

But seriously,if you can't decipher that dribble you might be a bit mentally challenged.

L2Diversify-yo!

This is the reason I will take my car to the grave.

My fuel system alone is nearly worth as much as the OP car :)

Same here.

I would rather pull my car to bits that sell it complete. Get more money back that way.

Ive had my 33 since about 2003 but cant remember. lol Paid 29k for it :O

meh I paid $42k for the last 33 gtst I bought....I guess I am a bit old school

haha, the last 33gtst i bought cost me just over $33k.

but this was way back when i was regularly asked if it was the next ford GT - after people saw the GT badge on the front fender, and when cops pulled you over cause they wanted to have a quick chat about how cool the car was!

That looks hardly damaged at all? just repair the front end. Unless one of the rails got f**ked, but it looks like it wasnt too hard of a hit?

This thread is less of a "reality check for sellers" and more of a "look how cheap I bought my car/how big my e-penis is"...

haha!!

$1k for a 89 R32 GTS4 - bought it as a restoration project with no intent of selling it.

cars are a hobby. if you buy them to make money or expect the same amount of money back when selling then you are kidding yourself.

This.

It's also very hard to compare cars and prices.

I got my R32 GTS-T for 5k not registered in Oct 2010. But I wanted a largely original and tidy example (particularly) the interior. I've spent another $4400 getting it to the point where I wanted it.

Some people obviously want way too much for their car but some people also pay peanuts for a car that's rough as and end up paying for it down the track.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
