most important is to have a correct fitting screwdriver, if then doing as Simon has said, and you still cannot get them,

then do the same again except with vice grips around the shaft of the screw driver.

Mafia - I did actually try freezing the whole thing, sounds like I got it around the wrong way! Will try the heat option.

need the correct sized screw driver, a way of holding the oil pump so it wont move. pref horizontally, then lean into it with your body weight and try and crack it.

avoid using an impack screw driver thats for sure

Why would you avoid using impact screwdriver I used to be a engine rebuilder and using a impact screwdriver is the only way using heat warps the housing which is a good idea

Had the same problem, use an impact screw driver....

Or what I did was vice the pump, got the correct size driver with a large ring spanner on the handle for leverage,

Then turned it while a mate pushed down and located the screw driver so it doesn't strip out

ive pulled plenty of oil pumps apart none of which have needed heat or an impact screwdriver. i'd say avoid an impact scredriver cause an oil pump is a fairly sensitive thing in a weakish housing.. some people are too heavy handed and too much potential to f**k it up

I pulled apart plent without needing an impact screw driver lol

purchase a screw driver with a hex style shank so that you can fit a spanner on the shaft.

place screwdriver end into screw, give the screw a couple of love taps to shock the thread,

Then use the spanner on your screwdriver to crack that bad boy

^^ yep, thats what worked for me, once u round off those heads on the screws then its in the bin it goes

If your having so much trouble undoing them with the correct size screw driver, it sounds like its been pulled apart and had the screws loctited previously. They really arn't that hard to remove at all.

As said before though, hex shanked screwdriver.

Sit it outside on a stinking hot day, use gloves to handle it and then do as above^^^^ the extra heat works. If its winter use an oven on low around 50'C and try it.

A bit of low heat will let you undo the impossible.

Well I finally got around to giving it another crack. Used my impact driver and they came out easily haha. Thanks for all the input :)

Also suprised to confirm that Neo's come with an N1 pump as standard.

And at least I know its not one of the Chinese copies!

yeah i mentioned that in another thread as i discovered it not long ago. N1 pumps stronger then people think too...

    • Hi. This is just my curiosity because iam sure the tuner figure something out...but either way i want to ask. The "problem" is that the Nistune ECU (Stagea FW and RB25DET NEO from Stagea) sees many times the speed than the speedo does(he says the speedo show 120 km/h - correct speed and the ECU shows like 510km/h ) I told him that this car/tranny getting speed from rear diff. If iam not mistaken the RB25DET NEO "need" to see tranny speed sensor? (my tranny has the plug for it). So couple of "question" If he connects/wire the speed sensor to the tranny...are the signals gonna intervene and if...what if he disconnects the rear diff one and the speedo stops working? Or the "new" sensor from the tranny "take over" and will not going need the one from diff? As i said i know he figure/get that done...iam just curious to know what are the solutions 🙂 
    • Your IACV is set to idle too low. You need to adjust it via the screw Duncan mentioned. From memory it should be 650rpm with the valve electrics unplugged. What is it trying to idle at with the IACV plugged in?
    • Ahhh, I need the whole head unit. I definitely needed to roll back through and review your setup, ha ha! Neat setup they have going on. I just need a full double din head unit. But I want good and responsive. I might have to review what the likes of pioneer have out these days.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
