Or go to watch the GT races at a place like Sepang...I apologise for being a little arrogant but you know you can do a better job then the HK businessman that has flown in for the "Round". Doing that class of racing in Asia would be a laugh.

There was one guy who was obviously talented starting from the back of the grid in a GT3. By 3/4 race distance he was in the lead. Watching hum under brakes into the final corner where I was sitting was a laugh. He was braking it appears at the correct location. Most cars were braking 50-100mtrs before him. It wasnt obvious until he smashed past them all under brakes.

So many fat cat gentlemen racers. Cant wait to see them trade the F430s for 458s and their Lambos for Mclarens and see how many get carnaged.

I can't wait until the road cars arrive and see them in the flesh...

There's already 28 out of 40 sold which have been allocated to Australia...

Hopefully next weekend I get to see the only mclaren mp4-12c engine in Australia...

I'm double hoping that I can open up the crate it's in and take some happy snaps...

When I was at the Ring in August I saw a few. Also saw a black one in Zurich! To look at up close they are amazing. Driving down the street the silver ZR1 I saw minutes later in Zurich and the 458s at the Ring are better looking cars.

I don't mind the looks of the MP4. I think it looks a lot better than the long-tail F1s, but not as good as the short tail F1s (not many cars do). It's a shame they didn't go with a central driving position for the MP4, they could have made that the company trademark. Still, can't complain with a twin turbo V8 :worship: I'd love to see these two cars lined up on the same track to see what 20 years of development has achieved.

From the pics I have seen the MP4 in GT3 trim and warpaint looks AMAZING.

The road car lacks a bit of the drama I had hoped from a new McLaren road car. But you appreciate the detail and design of the thing, but think it loses out in looks to others cars in its price bracket

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
