Founded in August 2011 by Grant Salter and Gwyn Morgan, Grip Shift Slide was hatched during lasts years visit to World Time Attack Challenge in Sydney, sitting in their hotel room, looking at a bunch of expensive camera gear, flight tickets and rental cars… They asked themselves ”why are we doing this?” the answer, give the Victorian scene what it needs; support and exposure.

Grip Shift Slide have confirmed 20 cars for Forum Battle, each unique in their own special way.

For full feature on team Grip Shift Slide visit our Forum Battle website (Here) or like our facebook page to stay up to date with the latest news (Here).

Look back a page or click: EVENT TIMING - PAGE 6

Fri night is check in

Sat is race day.

Sun is Show'n'Shine

More detail in the Supp Regs RE: Check-in: Supp Regs

No-flex near Calder Park (nearest suburb is Taylors Lakes) far as I know. You'll need to BYO.

Details are in your inbox

none yet

Please look - everyone else received the email. I've confirmed with 4 people thus far. Maybe in your junk box???

No point resending if it just goes into Junk again :D

hey ash any chance we can all get together and make a plan of attack for this event.

Plan is - rock up on Sat or Sun as required. Nothing more needs to be done, it'll just over complicate.

That said - the timing will change.

There is no way 6:15pm finish for one lap dash and then 6.30pm drags will start.

The track will need to be prepped etc. So no doubt further revisions to come - so unfortunately timing will vary "on the day" i reckon. No way it's going to be squeezed in as tight as they are aiming.

I've sent you all emails since Fri... Only 5 have got back tp Mr.

You must reply/action the email by COB tomorrow or you will miss out.

Entry closes tomorrow night. If you don't, you'll be replaced.

Can't believe I will miss this.

Visiting OZ from 6th to 16th March. Brisbaine, Gold Coast, Barrier Reef and back down to Sydney - already missing my Skyline - off road at the moment gettin it ready for UK summer.

Link to my album

Any suggestions - good places for a pistonhead to visit between these dates.

Alabor of an unplanned build, Issac started with a turbo and clutch upgrade andlike most ended up with a full re-build. 100% built and not bought. Issac has spent his fair share of late nightsunder the car… brakes, suspension and power, Issac has got it all covered, "Ibuilt this car with the intention of driving it hard, not hardparkd despite itlooking pretty" . Keep an eye out for "Snowball" at Winton at the Vicdriftevents. At Forum Battle, Issac and "Snowball" will be under the Gripshiftslidetent along with the other S15(s)

Honda has demanded victory in this year's Bosch Australian Rally Championship.

Honda Australia unveiled its two new Jazz rally cars at Bosch's headquarters in Melbourne yesterday, and lead driver Eli Evans admits the pressure will be on to perform.

"I've been told this year, we must win," Evans told Speedcafe.com.

"Honda said "What do we need to win?" and we said "a G2 car with the new regulations."

"They gave us the new Honda Jazz, and so far so good. It feels fantastic. It feels like an improvement on the Honda Civic Type R."

The cars will be driven by Evans and Mark Pedder and will make their debut at the inaugural Rally Calder next weekend.

Forum battle also gets a special mention (@3:00) , its going to be an awesome weekend!

The car is a 2005 Subaru Impreza RS. Micheal has owned it since the end of 2009 and bought it dead stock from Subaru docklands. Like most car nuts the modifying began almost instant, it went from pretty mildly tuned NA into a high revving, boxer pounding NA Impreza RS, as far Micheal knows, he reckons its the only NA Subaru modified to this level in Australia.

Bought back in 2010 from Carizma motors in Sydney, Phuong's car made the trip back down to Victoria and has since stayed there as his first and only car.

Being an apprentice mechanic with an apprentice wage and only wanting quality parts, means mods on his car are limited and can be slow at the best of times. He says "I know the car isn't perfect and still needs a lot of work, but I'm happy with the progress". Edited by motorculture

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
