Hey guys,

I'm contemplating on putting the front shaft back into my RS4. I have no self control and I can see myself getting into trouble sometime soon lol.

Anyway, how lenient is the 4WD system in terms of offsets and rolling diameter? I can't remember what it was excatly, 5% something or other.

I've got some wheels coming from japan specs are:

18x9.5 0 offset

18x10 -6 offset

The rears will have about 12mm more track then the front.

I was planning on running 225/40 front and 235/40 rear.

Kinda looking at the specs now, and I don't think it'll work

Has anyone mixed and match offsets/tyre sizes on their 4WD stagea? if so, what were your results?

its not sensitive to offsets

just run 235's on front and rear (one will look more stretched than the other but should keep the same rolling diameter (we've already had this discussion. you can't shrink a hoop/tube)

so long as the circumference is the same then you should be fine

given that he wants to run 9.5" rims and 10"rims both with a 40% sidewall they will be different rolling diameter. So no won't work, stay RWD

*edit just reread and yes if they are both 235's though they will my bad

I run 17" / 235 / 45 all round on 8" front and 9" rear enkei's. there is no drivetrain lockup, your torque split gauge will always be at 0. Actually your torque split gauge is your best friend and watch it always. if you have a flattening tyre, it will show it before you feel it.

I run 235 40 18 on 9.5 and 235 40 18 on 8 inch and even with rear tyre stretch tve had no 4wd issues . quick question why dont gtrs suffer this problem i know a few running diff rolling diameters with no probs and if flat tyre was to caise lock how ye hell would ya go with a space saver on which i have also done

need some advise

I picked up a 97 WGNC34 AWD and has the 4pot front and 2 pot rear brakes(same as ECR33 GTS33).Its currently factory height and if I lower it, it will be done with GTR33 lowering springs. I am looking at putting 18in rims and tires on the car. need to know will 18x9.5 will be to wide and what offset to use, and should I go with 235/35/18 all around or 245/35/18 all around? I also don't want to do a BIG stretch or roll the fenders also

If you want to run 9.5 rims you will need 255 tyres at least and you will need to push out the guards.

If you want to use 235 or 245 tyres you only need 8 or 8.5 rims.

My car is lowered with Bilsteins and Tein springs and I run 17 x 9 rims with 255 tyres and still need to push out the guards.

Ideal offset is about 15

Since I took the pic below I have lowered it another 10mm all round and set the rears out another 10mm

when u mean push out the guards you mean roll the fenders?

so if I want to go the 18in way 18x8.5 with 245/35/18`s are good, but what offset should I go?

Also has anyone was able to go staggered with out making the AWD go crazy?
