What would you choose for your RB and why?

Are these the latest and greatest in turbos?

Wanna hear your thoughts guys or anybody with some 1st hand experience or results

They've been around since 2005/2006, maybe earlier. Can't remember exactly. Hardly "latest and greatest".

They seem to have a bit of a following in the drag world, so they make the power. Does it mean they are good for street? Who knows.

Either way, if they were as good as they say, everyone would be using them or they would've at least penetrated the market a little more than they currently have after nearly 6-7 years.

Yeah there seems to be a few results with the large frame turbos but Im more interested in the medium framed units. Thanks ash yeah I do know they have been out a while wasn't sure how long though and my statement "latest and greatest" was purely a figure of speech mate as after reading their sales pitch they 'claim' to be packed with the latest technology. Maybe they are still a hidden gem as most people who are looking to upgrade generally take the proven packages and who could blame them when you are relieving your bank balance of $2000+

mmmmmaybe lol like the GTX when I got it there wasn't many if any results on Rb25's and Im just curious as these things sound and look pretty good but no results on the mid sized turbos

From the looks of it they are only really boasting about their bearing cartridge.

All the wheel sizes look rather familiar with the typical garret items, and they also have a model which specifially runs borg warner compressors.

It has a very hypergear feel to it, reinventing the wheel... but on a generic level with aerospace quality.

I would be more inclined to pick up an FP30 and push more boost dude ;)

They are machining their own wheel designs soon, up until now they have been mixing and matching from current manufacturers. Their bearing cartridge looks like a good design and there is logic behind it.

i have a Mr turbo billet 72mm turbo

"S72-GTS" with a .81 rear housing which is rated 800-1000hp (they say)

Which is hanging on a built 26/30

Should have it running and tuned by january so i will post results.

There was a VL calais with same turbo and motor combo pushing out 450rwkw on 18psi pump fuel.

I will be running e85 and around double the boost so we shall see how it goes.

6boost also promotes and sells these turbos if that helps with anything.

Also has or had one on his personal car which was a 8 or 9 second corolla i think....

ooo inconel... that's the super fancy metal isn't it? - looks like you can just get their chra's as welll...

"Our new core assembly (chra) is machined from Billet aluminium like all our turbochargers and incorparates our silicone nitride dual ball bearing system. The bearing housing is machined to fit OEM turbine and compressor housings sizes and oil and water ports suit original lines and fittings.

All turbine wheels are inconel to allow higher constant egt's.

We offer a number of wheel combinations including billet compressor wheels. We can supply as chra only or machine your housings to suit choosen wheel configurations."

So could you 'upgrade' your Garrett/HKS turbo with these fancy new bearing options?

I thought you were trying to sell your setup Jake? Be a crying shame to spend all that money on a huge setup and at not see how it runs??? Keen as hell to see your results mate :rolleyes:

Yeah Daniel incolnel can withstand ridiculous temperature variations without expanding and contracting therefore the material doesnt fatigue like other metals :thumbsup:

Mate I was selling up only due to wanting to build a more mental Rb either 3.2 or 3.4 litre with a stupendously sized turbo but ill thrash this motor until it lets go now.

I though I'd be able to sell it easier if it was brand new and could be inspected so I put it up for sale just to see if I had interest.

      Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch.       A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
