dan-0
Hey guys I did a quick search but want to confirm. Can i run a Kinugawa (kando dynamic) 11psi actuator On my stock r33 turbo instead of a manual boost controller? I have a full 3 exhaust and an r34 smic. DVS JEZ
Not sure if direct fit but why? Just fit an rb20 10psi actuator, with the tbe it should make around 11-12psi. Or just get a $100 gfb bleed valve Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/403661-actuator-instead-of-boost-controller/#findComment-6422074 Share on other sites
dan-0
R32 actuators are hard to come by. The kando actuator is $90 posted. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/403661-actuator-instead-of-boost-controller/#findComment-6422202 Share on other sites
Mitcho_7
Just get a manual boost controller, they are proven to work decently Edited June 29, 2012 by Mitcho_7 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/403661-actuator-instead-of-boost-controller/#findComment-6422242 Share on other sites

89CAL
It will be softer coming onto boost running just the actuator. Using a manual boost controller will see it come on a bit harder and gives you adjust ability I honestly dont see why you don't just get one of those turbotech eBay boost controllers. Plenty of good reviews and its not expensive Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/403661-actuator-instead-of-boost-controller/#findComment-6422556 Share on other sites
scotty nm35
Turbotech is crap from my experience. Go with the stronger actuator, you wont get defected for it (paint it black) and it will give you a much better outcome. If you are good with your hands you will be able to make a bracket to suit, take some pictures if you get the Kinugawa as i'm sure more people will be heading down this path soon. Perhaps on rb's and with hd actuators fitted already? I found the bleed hole was way too big. They are nothing on a HD actuator though, especially if the manifold pressure is getting up there, as it just blows the puck open. The Turbosmart one seemed a little better to me, (smaller bleed hole) but a good electronic boost controller gave a noticeable gain. Personally I would run both a HD actuator and a good EBC. dan-0
Can I just confirm, when I get the actuator. I just connect the hose from the actuator to the small oulet on the intercooler piping? scotty nm35
Yep, and use new hose. Take some pics for us on the fitment and quality, I was interested in these actuators myself as I want to modify it for a push and pull setup. Make sure you check it doesn't overboost before you get on it hard. Crans
Wouldnt take too much effort to get that to fit. Would ruin warranty tho Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/403661-actuator-instead-of-boost-controller/#findComment-6437623 Share on other sites
hypergear
Thats ok, you can run as much boost as your engine's happy to take it. I will warranty the turbo no worries.
