on that note I'm thinking about going to Suzuka this year.

Anyone been there?

Me and a mate are down for Japanese GP this year. Can only really afford 14 days so gives me about 10 days plus the GP to see Japan and perhaps buy a bucket o shit R31 for some track work at either Suzuka, Fuji or some other track

cool i'll see how i go, i'm still in the maybe stage because of school which finishes for me two weeks before the race and i'd kinda like to get started on the job hunting which doesn't look very promising at this stage.

Can only afford 2 weeks, a GP, a car and a track day?

Poor Bris :(

...its all about priorities. I own nothing but two cars...and am single. Its pretty easy to spend your money on holidays when you don't have a Mrs busting your balls about sensible things like saving for a house....wedding rings...kids etc Not having a mortgage and having cheap monthly rent means this 36yr old is trying to live the life I wanted when 21 :)

Not bad a trip for me down to Melbourne.

Fangio stand was as expected. But its Australia, you aren't going to see much anyways.

Might make next year the last Aus one I go to just cause of the new stuff.

An offer to go to Singapore in september is very tempting at the moment! Just for the 3 days. In and out.

KIMI FTW! Wore my "I know what i'm doing" shirt with pride!

i want one of those shirts so bad..

With the Korean and Japanese Grand Prix being run on consecutive weekends and Korean being first you could fly into Tokyo get a flight to Korea for under $100 do the KGP for the weekend , fly back to Japan ,sight see , party ,buy shit box and do the Japan Grand Prix all in just over 1 week.

Warning, Japanese GP is as boring as shit when it comes to atmosphere. I can hook you up with a Japanese mate's club in Roppongi where lots of the GP drivers go after race night but be warned, if your a naughty boy there there's a good chance you'll end up as sashimi, behave and you'll have a wow of a time as it gets packed with foreign and Japanese models.

I bought the "I know what I am doing shirt" and the "Yes, yes, yes..." shirts. I grabbed a few for friends that I knew woudl like them and one was wearing his on teh weekend and he tells me lots of people were asking about them :)

LOL, I got massively err, drunk in Paris two weeks ago and lost my Kimi beanie in a pub...annoyed ! :)

If I could afford a hat, Id take it off to you.

Webber will bag a pole and win this weekend. He is long overdue for a win in Malaysia where he has always had pace equal to or better than Seb. Either way its his last Malaysian GP in an Red Bull so he better pull out all stops here and Japan.

you're setting yourself up for dissapointment!

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
