should only be the wax that's effected

(bird poop is acidic - use a mild polish to remove)

Spray bottle of quick detailer and a micro fibre cloth in the glove box

get to it as soon as you see it.

I usually do, but i took it all out on the weekend to do the Merc i was detailing and have not put it back in yet. Ill have to give it a quick look at tonight.

Pay day today so I'll be getting a few things.

20x Wheel nuts

2x Child Restraints

Book Rosie in for temp exhaust and some minor fixes to comply with the pits

and decide whether or not I should go and get a Engineer Cert - because the new law comes in comlience on the 1st of Nov 2013.

Also - was looking at a CF Pod Filter airbox - however it's rated for the stock pod filter and not my aftermarket one so not sure if it'll fit :(

keep the Standard airbox bro, only only reason i don't use my standard box is it won't fit with my larger AFM.

Also new law?

All cars must have correct child restraints and Engineered (if 5 seater you need 3 child restraints) so yeah.. this comes in on the 1st of Nov 2013. Trying to slip past it.

Just booked Rosie in with Trojan for next Wed to get Bulbs, exhaust and chils restraints. Happy with the quoted price.

get engineered when you get defected

and remember even when engineered you can and will still be defected (when the PoPo feel like it)

but at least it will be less hassle I suppose.

Would love too, however, to pass pits I need it :/ But I'm trying to get it through before the 1st so that way I can maybe slip under the new law.

I'm confused...according to the guy who fitted and engineered my restraints, they're supposed to be fitted for compliance when the car is imported....not to mention they already require an engineer's certificate post-compliance (if compliance was dodgy), hence why I needed to have mine added to the report.

I have 2 sound speakers in teh rear parcel shelf so no longer complied. I only have one in the middle. I need 3, I only have 2 which need to be certified if I'm going to comply I guess.

So what on earth are you talking about when you say about slipping in before some law? They need to be fitted and engineered NOW, not after some date in the future.

Hence my confusion.

My understanding (Which is not promising) is that you need an engineers cert now (1st Nov). No excuses (It also needs to be tested). Before, when I got my R33 through pits they just said put child restraints in the back (Not to get it engineered).

Read the legislation (post #2149) as I don't fully understand it myself.

f**k reading that novel lol...but yeah let's not forget (and it seems you've encountered yet another prime example) that the clowns employed in VITU (Vehicle Inspection Technical Unit) DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW THE REGULATIONS THEY'RE APPARENTLY CERTIFIED TO ENFORCE.

Dead set, they're idiots. They wrongly advised you the first time with your R33, though at least at the time it was fortunately in your favour.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
